You can shoot trees down in DirectX 9 mode. Or my X1900XT is somehow capable of running DirectX 10 on Windows XP. You can decide which is more likely.

What are you talking about? Crysis was optimized for *** for ATI and/or crossfire users. I have two HD4850s, and get the performance of an 8800GTX. if not, maybe SLIGHTLY higher. i turned off crossfire, exact same frame-rate.xid32

That's because you probably have a P45 mobo. You would get better performance in Crossfire with an X48.

You can cut trees even in low physics.It has to do with the shader quality or object detail or something else.

In MP, no, you can't shoot down trees unless you're playing on a DX10 server.

And besides why dont you just overclock your CPU and put physics on high.Heck even at stock it should be fine.Run the crysis CPU benchmark changing physics settings while keeping all other settings constant to see whether your CPU is good enough or not.

And playing with the physics setting, I couldn't really do any of the cool things you all brag that Crysis is supposed to be able to do at any setting other than High.codezer0

The way it's supposed to work is you have full physics interaction on medium and above (with more realistic and complex physics calculation capabilities the higher you go), while low doesn't allow you to do things like tear shacks apart with explosives and strength mode punches (can't remember if it doesn't allow trees to be cut or not), while also having the simplest physics calculations. Not sure why it's not working like that for you.

only DX10 OR DX10 XP hack does allow cut tree if i remember.

I have an ASUS rampage X48 mobo....Its probably because A) I was still using the 8.5/8.6 drivers and B) Crysis just doesnt work well with Crossfire.

This is a little offtrack from computer discussion but......

I dunno dude, you have the most post on this thread and makes the least sense out of all the people here. I'm not a native speaker and I type at about 60 WPM. In my opinion, typing accurately should include correct spelling and proper sentence structure. Most importantly, your audience should be able to understand what you're trying to say. Your sentences are like a bunch of words scrambled together. If I stack a crapload of bricks together, that don't make it a building, no matter how fast I do it. Therefore, I can't exactly call myself a builder can I?

I think the HD 4870 X2 should be a nice little thing, but I would wait a little bit and not buy it on the day of release.

if ati can releash something far better then 4870x2 before. summer 2009 they will gain incredible boost in gaming experiances and will go in favor of gamer as they will go X58 & X48. For Gamings instead of SLI chipset.

But Yet the R700? you know 4870x2. is about to release and in CF for 1100$ Will defeat 3-way sli 280GTX
