i was thinking that i should upgrade it when the new consoles hit the markets but some ppl suggested that i should go for an upgrade now
cuz my machine just wont survive tha accelerating improvement in graphics

Ehh i run a E8400@3.6ghz 6gigs and a 9800GT and i can still play most games med-high with 30-40fps, My video card just died so im upgrading it now to a GTX 460. And with that my Fps will probably increase by 15-20. Enless your getting ready for cysis 2, there really isnt a game that you couldn't run with that computer.

i would personally wait till socket 2011 comes out, it should be released by fall or chirstmas this year.
I'm waiting until games are actually being built for this hardware. I mean in the past games where changing graphically so much that a new computer upgrade was required every 2-3 years. Now the technology that we have out completely blows away the required specs for these games it's not even necessary to upgrade. This is the longest graphically stalemate we've had in technology.
w8ting for ivybridge looks like the perfect solution[QUOTE="gmaster456"]Wait for IvyBridge and get one of those CPU's and grab a GTX560 too. Those would be a very solid upgradeNOMAD_78
but what about my pc will it hold on till ivybridge is released in 2012???
Yeah, your PC will hold out another yearim afraid that ocling will damage my cpu cuz i leave it on for days without turning it off... ????[QUOTE="GTR12"]
OC that CPU, your missing out.
NOMAD_78
It won't damage it, unless your gonna use it for like another 10yrs, then you might lose 1yr or so by OC'ing.
