If you install allot of things. it will take up ram memory slowly.

I don't think so.
It's unusual that only 2.5GB show up, usually at least 3GB show up w/4GB on a 32bit OS. Try a 64-bit OS, and see if all 4GB show up.
Are you sure its 2.5? a 32bit OS should read 3.5.albi321
A 32-bit os will see a maximum of 4gb, it depends on whats in your pc... He has 1gb of video ram (gx2, presumably both cards memory need to be mapped) , so he would see a maximum of 3gb, but obviously other things are using up another have gig or so.
I'm using a 64 bit and my 4 gigs shows 2.5 to 2.7
However I also have Crysis installed and few other programgs but nothing that uses a gig. Cryis uses two so inless I have a leaky ram then it does take up the ram memory.
I use a 9600 GT as my Vid card.

the only thing is that your memory is being shared with something

Yeah, thats correct. So whats the problem? How many things do you have open? Background apps/processes also take memory.

Huh? 4 gigs should just show as 4 gigs in a 64bit os...
