hd 5970

Problem with that is that I dont think it will fit into the case I'm getting (HAF 922) and that I would have to get a larger PSU which would increase the cost a bit much for me.

trust me, i have a 5870 and a HAF 922 and i have HEAPS of space left till the hard drive bays, get a 5970 or 5850 crossfire :). But if you got a 5970 it would definitely fit.

Just want to add that 2 480's in SLI are the best performing 2 card setups. But saying that SLI always scales better than crossfire isn't being completely honest. There are alot of games out there now that are tailored towards Nvidia cards, so performance with Nvidia is typically better for those games. I won't try to tell you what to buy but if you prefer a crossfire setup I recommend either 2 5870's or 5850's depending on budget. To better help you make your decision here is a full review with most dual gpu setups so you can compare them to the games you like to play.

Actually with the new Fermi GPU's they scale even better than before, SLI is pretty decent now (better than X-Fire).

Just a comparison between the 480 and 5870 in Crysis Warhead with SLI/Crossfire. 480 single card 52 fps 480 SLI 83 fps performance increase 159% 5870 single card 45 fps 5870 crossfire 70 fps performance increase 155% As you can see SLI scales just a little better than Crossfire but not enough to base a purchase entirely on which scales better in a dual GPU setup.

Well Ive decided on a single 480 now, but I have run into more problems.
I cant seem to find an SLI mobo -.- not that it matters too much, it just feels like a waste to have a 480 and no ability to be able to SLI later down the road. Another thing, Should I really even bother? PCIE 3.0 is coming out soon, and by the time I would even need to SLI I would probably be better off getting a new single GPU. So ya, opinions?

This is the list of mobos that I can choose from: Here I love hyperlinks =D

Gotta keep it

Well, it seems the only AM3/SLI motherboard they have is out of stock. Here's the link.

Ya just realised im getting a 650w PSU anyway, so I guess im stuck with single cards for now. Anywho any suggestions from that list? I was looking at the M4A something EVO mobos and the Gigabyte ones. Ive recently fallen really sick, so my minds not working to its full potential atm =[

Well, if you're just going to stick with a single-GPU setup for this build, then the M4A87TD/USB3 seems to be your best bet. The EVO boards are more for multi-GPU setups, in which case the M4A79XTD EVO would be optimal should you decide to go this route.
