in terms of software sold, in dollars. probably pc but is cell phone catching up?

PC, and no, cell phones are not catching up and never will catch up.JP_Russell
u have stats to back it up? so u don't think cell phone gamign wil ever eclipse $1 billion b/c if it does ,it will get at least close to pc gaming.
lollll
anyway ... pc games are 50$ while most cell games are 5~10$
... i buy more pc games
waza000
yes but there's many more cell phones than pc's. especially in countris like china or india. most of those people don't even have 'landlines'. i wouldn't be surpricsed if cellphonese in some countries outnumber pc's by 2x or 3x.
and compared to gaming pcs (strng enought to run $50 games), the ratio si probably closer to 8x or 10x, just a guess but a loooooooot more people have cell phones vs gaming pc's.
Cellphones don't have games. They're just shabby little thrown together things that people buy into that I think would hardly constitute as being a game.
Grim_Wolf88
oh please, don't make fanboyish statements like that.
Who cares?MythPro1
i do. if cellphone gaming ever becomes bigger than pc gaming, than pc gaming will just be a small niche.

No, just a bit of common sense.

killax3563
And I'm willing to bet a minority of cell phone owners buy games for it, and that at least 99% of people who buy one game for their cell phone see how much of a turd it was and how much money they just wasted and never buy another.

It what way, form, or fashion does that statement make me a fanboy? I have played cellphone games. They really aren't that good.
what are you kidding me.... do over 10 million people play just one game on cell phones.... no
Do over 10 million people play just one game on pc.. yes, and that would be world of warcraft.
Does a whole country play just one cell phone game... no
Does a whole country play one pc game ... yes, and that would be starcraft in south korea.

How was it fanboyish? Fanboyism requires that the subject in question makes a statement that suggests or confirms they are a fanatic for a particular thing. His statement made it clear that he is the opposite of a fanboy for cell phone games.

There's nothing fanboyish about his statement. Cellphone "games" are pretty universally simplistic time wasters on par with Windows Solitaire.
When we speak of PC games we speak of the like of Crysis or Sins of a Solar Empire or World of Warcraft, not things from the $5 bargain rack at Walmart. Until cellphones are capable of running things that lush or complex on big ass screens... you're comparing apples to oranges.

that's like saying gba/playstation/xbox (or any other platform's) games arent' real games b/c they don't fit his personal definition of games. same thing really.

I never said I was pro PC and that it totally wiped the floor with Cellphone games. I put great exaggeration into saying I didn't like cellphone games. A simple statement of dislike. There's a differance.

even if there are more cell phones than pcs in countries like china and india, that does NOT mean that these people with cell phones are actually buying cell phone games. most people are content to waste their time playing the games that already came with the cell phones; most people don't bother purchasing games for their cell phones.

He never had bias favoring any side. He simply said that one side sucks. You're assuming that means he's saying it because he's directly comparing it to other sides, so you're drawing the conclusion that he's a fanboy based on information that is neither there nor reasonably capable of being inferred.
I, for instance, would say cell phone games suck even if I had never played any other games before, so it would have nothing to do with me comparing it to how I favor other games. I have played other games, but even so, in me saying cell phone games suck, I still do not mean it as in "as opposed to PC games." They just suck. Period.
Furthermore, what constitutes fanboyism is not simply a preference, like, or appreciation of one thing over another upon direct comparison. Fanboyism is more a state of when one has the aforementioned qualities for reasons other than their logical conclusion of which thing is better after having analyzed the facts about each, reasons such as needless and/or undeserved loyalty toward it. For example, I have played PC games and have played cell phone games. I can compare the two and honestly say that I feel PC games are extraordinary while cell phone games are relatively piles of poo. That doesn't make me a fanboy; I came to this conclusion because I analyzed in my mind the positive qualities of PC games and compared them to those of cell phone games, and found the PC side highly satisfactory and the cell phone side very lacking. I did not have some sense of devotion toward or allegiance with PC gaming which affected my judgement and made me unable to recognize or concede the merits of cell phone games, therefore fanboyism does not come into the picture.

I like to think so. :P
Nah, that's just what I reason it to be. I feel that too many people go around spouting he or she is a fanboy without vividly understanding themselves what fanboyism is. Typing out long paragraphs like that often helps me to understand things more distinctly; to take things in my psyche I "just kind of get but don't know how to explain," extract them out through writing (typing), and organize them by rewriting (re-typing, much easier thanks to the handy backspace).
Wow, you again killax? starting your system wars threads. Didnt we prove you wrong enough last time.The_PC_Gamer
huh? i guess ur not smart enough for a good debate. figures....
Less than 1% of people with cellphones bother with games. And don't act like cellphones are more popular. More people have PCs then cellphones. And even more people having gaming PCs than game compatible cell phones. The statistics aren't even CLOSE.GodLovesDead

Xaosll asked this before, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask it again. Do you have stats to back up your claims? While we are at it, lets estimate the amount of skittles in existance.sSubZerOo100 million skittles currently exist. PC gaming is doomed because of it.
