So I want a new TV, I currently have a 27" lcd before HDMI was around. I have about $800 limit and I was looking at these 2 tvs from walmart. The price is really good on both but I dont know if there is a really big difference between LCD and LED. I have both PS3 and 360 and i watch a good amount of blurays and I use Netflix. Thanks ahead of time your opinions will help.

This is the HDTV I have. I have an HD DirecTV receiver and a 360 hooked into it, both through HDMI. I have experienced none of the negative issues most people bring up when they start talking about how LCD-TVs are bad for gaming or movies. LED is really just an overpriced LCD, no reason to splurge unless you just want to brag on how you have an LED-TV.

On those two you have listed:

The Samsung is a good TV but 120Hz is really just a gimmick.

And for the Vizio... I wouldn't refer Vizio TVs to people I hate, although most brag on them.

Just prepare yourself for a *load of plasma references, because most people here are kind of biased towards them.

LED is good if you want to save the environment. If you are concerned about picture quality and whatnot, a lot of people here recommend Panasonic plasmas - generally the G25 series.

*We're just spreading the truth. It's not like we're some kind of OnLive or Kinect worshipers.

Now for those plasma references! If you want below 42", any LCD by Sony, Samsung, and LG are perfect. The difference isn't that big between them. If you want something 42" and above, plasma is the best option. Tigerdirect has a great selection of plasmas to choose from. Panasonic makes the best, and between LG and Samsung it's mostly preference. I like LG's picture over Samsung myself. The Panasonic 42" 1080p seems perfect for you.
