Which Steam sales are usually better? Summer or Christmas?

Does anyone know if Steam has better deals in the Summer or Christmas? I started my Steam account in the beginning of September so I missed out on all the Summer deals (granted I did purchase Knights of the Old Republic for $2.50) but I heard Black Friday/Christmas has some great deals too. Are Christmas sales better? I really want to pick up the Valve and Bethesda packs on sale.

This time of the year Black Friday/Christmas is usually insane really. I'm sure Bethesda will have their deals and pretty much all publishers get in on the act. I mean key's for games actually get sold during Christmas. Especially the Chistmas deals tend to last untill well in to the New Year.

More like sell your kidney, sure they're dirt cheap but there's so many games on sales.

I'd say Christmas, but both are really off the hook... Weekly sales are good as well, Bethesda pack went on sale few months ago I believe..

Their Christmas sales get dirt cheap all across the board, the summer ones are just good deals.

I remember buying like 40 games, half of which were no more than a year or two old, for like 50 bucks last Christmas.

The whole month of December was just insane.

The last two Christmas sales have been phenomenal.

The Summer Sale was good, but the Christmas sales are usually better.

Lol Steam has a major sale every Equinox and Solstice, This Winter Solstice I expect to see some major sales.

They seem to be having better and better sales, each time, so its hard to pinpoint the best time of the year. Though I would say probably Winter Solstice, because I also bundle the (American Shopping holiday, "Black Friday") in with it since it is less than a month away from the actual Winter Solstice.

Both summer and winter are fantastic. Expect to go into the new year with another 20 or so more games from what you have now.

The initial question would have been fair a year ago, but since last Christmas, Steam has been having pretty much constant sales, now with a midweek sale and a different weekend sale. I'm sure they will put on something special for Christmas to get us buying even more games :)

Summer sales are usually indie and less popular titles. Christmas is when the big stuff goes on sale.

I can't wait for the Steam deals in the coming weeks. Halloween was a good indication of the epic we should be bracing for.

My excitement falls somewhere between toddler with Nerf gun and fat kid with cake.

Can. Not. Wait.
