Who here is excited about it?

Honestly this is the only game I've ever wanted to play since 07 untill sc2, d3, splinter cell conviction, hitman, and some others that won't come out untill 09-10.

every game 07-08 has sucked and this is the only thing that i am looking foward to.

It's the sequel to Boiling Point which was cool, but sucked a lot due to it's bad execution, I couldn't even progress and finish that game cause of bad faction design in the game. But I still loved that it was a modern free roam RPG like game in FPS.

Leveling up skills, factions, fps, modern world, cars, stealth mode, rambo mode, currency, theft, npc interaction, interigation, bartering, and so on. I really can't wait.

It's not a well known game cause the devs aren't well known, their only major game was Boiling point which wasn't very well known, also they have a bigger russian fan base than american.

That is a rather bold statement, and makes me question your taste in games. 2007 games suck? 2007 is possibly one of the best years in gaming since 2004 and 1998/9. We had Crysis, Orange Box, WiC, COD4 etc.

okay games, but you would never compare any one of those games with the heavy hitters such as sc2 or d3.

even diablo 2 today is still more addicting than anyone of those games. I've played all those 4 mentioned, enjoyed them, but in 2 years I will hardly remember them. Diablo 2 is almost comming to it's decade mark and I still wish I had my account to play on occasionally. Crysis was fun, it was somewhat different than all the other fps played, but it wasn't as fun as fear's campaign, and the mutli sucks compared to counter strike or bf2 or 2142. Orange box is eh, I liked TF1 over TF2. WiC was a very fun game, very good story especially for a RTS, but in terms of RTS online, I rather play starcraft 1 or warcraft 3 (dota is great) and CoD4 is fun, but it's a port ffs. Personally I enjoyed bf2 and 2142 over cod4.

Boiling Point is a broken and buggy mess of a game, but it's also endearing and in its own way absolutely excellent. I have high hopes for White Gold, but I feel that Ubisoft's Far Cry 2 will probably be a lot better. Not only has the Ubisoft team developed magnificent games in the past, they are English-speaking and have Ubisoft's deep pockets to reach in to.

I have high hopes for White Gold, but nothing I've seen or read on the game gives me reason to have anything other than low expectations.

he is saying that games sucked and he is right it was the biggest dissapointment ill lay off crysis which i dont like and i focus in one i liked cod4 lets focus on the main bad points why it aint even the half of cod2, in level size at least, mostly its too simple not as much as cod4 so dissapoiinting all games were eg jericho timeshift ffow mohaa conflicit kane and lynch all disapoiting even bioshock (not that i dont like them but mainly they were compared to the past)

as fo boiling point:

"It's the sequel to Boiling Point which was cool, but sucked a lot due to it's bad execution, I couldn't even progress and finish that game cause of bad faction design in the game. But I still loved that it was a modern free roam RPG like game in FPS. "

great ideas but the game is the worst combat ever ,(which crysis aint far, a minor disapointment in the game)

also the skills and healling items are broken including guns story ai the game crashes and often destoryes save game, so i hated i find it pure garbage,, WHY, why let me explain, eg in crysis it wouldn be hard to make the jungles like boiling point eg you get off the road and at the trees and there are wild animals there and wide jungles full of vegatation to hide, am not saying it should be that wide but in crysis they didnt focus in nice enviroments, like far cry ,but graphics ,not exotic like boiling poit Aztec villages, thats a minor dissapoitment and what the tc means,

so all i got to say i dont care even if it cost 5, i want it to be much bettter and patched uo than boiling point, by the way it looks exotic in graphics and areas like just cause , let em take time and polish the game, then am getting it, by the way why mercs 2 got a 5.0 and boiling point a 7? hmm i hope the new reviewer actually turn some gear wheels in side boiling point brains and actually made them think....KRRRRRR hmmm.....KRRRRR should we work on it more....KRKKRKRKRKKRRRR so gets better score and more fans....KRRRRRR ZBINNNNN "IDEA"

yeah boiling point hit every single spot that i hungered for as a gamer. It was also a modern game that only thing fantasy about it was government conspiracy. Compared to the aliens or ghosts or creepy randomness other FPS games try too hard on. I loved the RPG elements combined with the FPS ontop of that they even combined cars and free roam like GTA met FPS.

The videos I've seen of White gold are exceptionally nice especially comming from a dev team that's limited compared to major 500s like EA. They made a brand new engine which are supporting 2 of their games, White gold being one of them. Doesn't really matter, aslong as they keep basics of Boiling Point with a working product so i can actually finish the game i'll definately be playing it for a while with high hopes for a modding community.

I appreciate that your English is a hell of a lot better than my Greek, but these misunderstandings are kind of annoying. I called it a "buggy and broken mess of a game". That's pretty much me saying it sucks. I go on to say it's excellent in its own way - that is, it has some great ideas and does some things well, but the game as a whole is poor.

Also, you should know that I intend to buy Fallout 3 and I expect to like it a lot, just not as a roleplaying game. I'm looking forward to exploring the world, which looks magnificent, but I expect the roleplaying mechanics to be underdeveloped and cater to the console kiddies who loved Oblivion's 'roleplaying' so much.

Yep, great summary, that's my perspective as well.

There are definitely a number of people that have White Gold on their radar OP. To a lesser degree I'm anticipating The Precursors as well. If they nail it, and it's a big if, I can see really becoming immersed in the world of White Gold and enjoying the game ALOT. Boiling Point is at least a template to show the potential of what might be possible, however, the combat among other things obviously, does need to be significantly improved though.

So you like boiling point, but it sucks? or its poorly design? (so does crysis fact not theory, i didnt say it sucks i said it could be designed with les tecnical flaws)you wanna get white gold?

anyway as for rpg well its more rpg than fable right?

duh not many hardcore rpgs games left i think only witcher, in any case oblivion is more rpg than fable duh people call fable an rpg? id call it action adventure eg a boss that you dodge attacks by rolling around and hit him from the back?

well fallout looked like fallout in graphics in skills aiming system perks bla bla style setting pip boy power fist, now from being from bethesada? well all eidos games with guns remind me hitamn style,

far cry 2 doesnt look like far cry same desingers

deus ex and invisible war, same designers so diffirent(deus ex 3 will be from outher designers)

system shock 2 and bioshock, they mostly use the idea and story lol another fake identity radio character, but the inventory system and shooting they are all dififrent!

so my point is is it form bethesada its gonna be like their games but being like the previous, only the hardcore old gamers will play not new ones, it focuses in fallout points like the perks so i guess not totally hardcore but it got to be playable by both sides!, to explain you what i mean

FABLE...........FANS WAR..............WINNER..........FANS WAR.........HARDCORE RPGS

so i guess both sides will be ok with the game personally its more filled since the areas look really big and story is good, it ahs skills and graphics

about far cry 2 and white gold well just cause 2 is on the way (now why couldnt they make crysis open, like far cry(wasnt that the idea of the project) ended and less like a fps and i give it 9.5 just for that, SO WHATS YOUR POINT HERE? the same as stalker, chernobyl is much wider than that so all i got to say am happy for seing such wider games coming out dont take me wrong i think its time for mor explorable ares to the gamers!

what you think?

White Gold is sitting on a gold. Let's just hope they get it right this time.

There are good things about the game, and there are good ideas that are done badly. It's not a good game, but there are good things about it.

anyway as for rpg well its more rpg than fable right?thenewau25

I haven't played Fable.

duh not many hardcore rpgs games left i think only witcherthenewau25

I know,, but that's no defense, is it? I mean, if all developers stopped making good games, should we say "well, they don't make good games any more - this is what we should expect" or should we demand good games? Real roleplaying games might not be made any more, or might not be very common, but that doesn't mean we should just accept that, does it?

in any case oblivion is more rpg than fable duh people call fable an rpg? id call it action adventure eg a boss that you dodge attacks by rolling around and hit him from the back?thenewau25

I know nothing of Fable, but when I'm talking about roleplaying games, I mean games like Bloodlines and Fallout. Games where you build a unique character and that character can interact with the world in unique ways.

well fallout looked like fallout in graphics in skills aiming system perks bla bla style setting pip boy power fist, now from being from bethesada? well all eidos games with guns remind me hitamn style,thenewau25

I have a hard time understanding you, so I'm not sure what it is you're saying here exactly.

far cry 2 doesnt look like far cry same desingersthenewau25

It's not the same designers. Crytek made Far Cry, while an inhouse Ubisoft studio is working on Far Cry 2.

deus ex and invisible war, same designers so diffirent(deus ex 3 will be from outher designers)

system shock 2 and bioshock, they mostly use the idea and story lol another fake identity radio character, but the inventory system and shooting they are all dififrent!thenewau25

The thing about these games is that there is a shift towards shallow and constricting games with massmarket appeal, for the casual gamers. There is never (or almost never) a shift away from mainstream into a deliberate niche, so although there can be a change in a series, it's always (or almost always) a change towards shallow, not away from it.

so my point is is it form bethesada its gonna be like their games but being like the previous, only the hardcore old gamers will play not new ones, it focuses in fallout points like the perks so i guess not totally hardcore but it got to be playable by both sides!, to explain you what i meanthenewau25

It's looking like it's going to be more like Oblivion than Fallout. While it has perks and SPECIAL and stuff, we don't know how much of an impact they will play on the game, and we don't know how they will affect the player. Superficially, BioShock looks just like System Shock 2 - it has hacking, character development, a security system audio logs and all other kinds of things. But when you look under the surface layer, they are very, very different games. Many, perhaps most, Fallout fans expect that from Fallout 3. On the surface, it may contain all of Fallout 1 and 2's core gameplay mechanics, but how they will be used remains to be seen.

Boiling Point was great, liked it a lot and bugs didn't ruin the overall experience for me. And i hope that White Gold is more polished and even better game than Boiling Point.

Yeah, Herrick's been looking foward to White Gold for a while. I don't think it's a real sequel to Boiling Point though. I'm hoping the game will turn out good, but I don't hear much news about it and that is disheartening.

Boiling Point was a great idea, but it was so sloppy. Shooting & driving felt like crap. The sound was crappy too. Sometimes the voice acting was so low and I could hear really loud rain inside a room...louder than the voice acting. I think the different sounds could be adjusted in the menu, but that never really worked for me.

Perhaps Far Cry 2 will be what Boiling Point should have been. I just hope it's not going to be another 10-hour game.

well i dont get it did you guys manage to like a game that destroyes it self in the end by wrecking savagames and crashing or the worst combat ever, eg for me its combat so what i dont get is fatshodan you said should we accept what they do with the new games eg ss2-bioshock fallout 2- vault dweller in oblivion (like chuck norris in oblivion, machinima series) am just saying fallout 3 doesnt look like crap to me but you seem not to accept all the changes, guess what I DONT EITHER so the same problem i got in crysi try to uinderstand the combat seems garbage to me for a 9.5 game, shall i accept that judgin what iv seen in the past? NO, and the areas could have been as exotic as far cry thats my point, they change stuff to be morer simple eg i heard in a game i think stalker the complain was the ares werent memorable eg simple like crysis no offence in the game here thats a good point, but thr question is fo we want simple areas like fable, ok lets change this make sure you never play fable so lets say like...... stalker compared to the size of boiling point so we agree on that should i accept how they wreck the new games? NO i want the games like i used to play them so thats goes about cryisis too eg i want that village to allow me to go around like mohaa and frontlines i want to play deus ex 3 and be like deus ex 1 not 2 i want gears of war to have better combat since it has dont better in the past by killswitch and story and better checkpoint system, so beond been revolutionary my question do you want a ss3 or bioshock 2 cuz when bioshock came out ,duh why bio and not system so games becoming simplier like fable.. like fallout 3 but what iv seen its like far cry ubi's far cry bethesada's fallout, form what iv seen oblivion with guns looks more like fallout than oblivion and morrowind to me, so i think its fine in my book!

Major thread necro, is this game dead or what? Sure Boiling Point had tons of issues before all the patches but it was a very fresh type of game, would really like to see its sequel come to life still.
