Meeeeeee
My computer really needs an upgrade bad. It was a budget system when I first built it in 04 and it's really showing its age as of late.

Nope I just refurbished my old one as it were..
Basically I ripped out the guts of my old system, kept my CD-RW and my DVD RW along with my 200 gb hard drive in my solid Dragon Chieftec Tower. I also held on to my Creativy Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS.
In that I bought the ABIT Fata1ty FP-IN9 SLI motherboard, Intel 4300e Core 2 duo 1.8 ghz (will be overclocking this a couple hundred possibly upwards to 2.4 ghz though people have gotten as high as 3.4ghz.), 2gb 667mhz Kingston DDR2 ram, EVGA 8800 GTS EVGA supercharged video card, Thermaltake 600W PSU.
The total cost was roughly $700. The system is rock solid and I absolutly love the motherboard. Abit has been my favorite motherboard company for quite awhile sense I originally got my KV8 Pro. It was the first computer I built that never had a hitch with the boot up what so ever. I only had one thing I never understood about the boards design.. They added a Floppy ide on the board, but they put it in the most rediculous place on the board, on the very bottom of the board right under the PCI's and the two PCIE's. It is also nice that the board has 2 IDE's meanign I didn't need to buy a SATA hard drive though i will soon enough. The board also has a power button and reset button on the board it self so you can see what you are shorting...
The onlything I absolutly hated in the installation was putting in the CPU fan. You have to put quite alot of pressure on the board to force the plugs in to each hole, it got pretty nerve wracking.
Its a great all around purchase in my eyes, my only regret is I should have bought the 675mhz Corsair xms memory that for the same amount was selling for $5 more. But I wouldn't have noticed a difference what so ever.
In the end overall this was a solid purchase and each piece I spent a good 3 to 5 days researching and found them to be great and worthy for purchase.
-Pentium 4 @ 2800Mhz (socket 478)
-1280MB DDR-RAM
-ATI Radeon X1950GT (AGP)
video card is the only decent thing in it, but its AGP so... yeah.
haha ok let me see
CPU - AMD Sempron(tm) 2400+
Ram - 256
VC - ATI RADEON 9250
yep definitely need a little upgrade here.I'm thinking about a summer job atour neighbour'srestaurant and maybe i'll upgradelater.Christmas maybedunno :)
Surprised this isn't locked and sent over to the hardware forum but anyway.
I'm perfect right now with my 3700+ (754 pin :P ), 1 gig Corsair XMS, Asus K8V, and X1950 Pro 512mb AGP. I built this sucker a few years ago and it's still going strong, as I've only upgraded my video card from an x850 XT to a X1950 pro last holiday. After selling my card on ebay, I only payed about 40 bones for the upgrade. So much for PC Gaming costing an arm and a leg......
NOBODY ON THIS PLANET NEEDS A COMPUTER MORE THAN ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GOT MINE FROM MDG 6 YEARS AGO. IT HAS A PENTIUM 4@ 1.7 GHZ AND A FRIGEN 38 GB HARD DRIVE SO YOU KNOW WHAT JUST DONT GET ME STARTED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me, mine is an integrated x200 for graphics... Enough saidToriko42
Your complaining? i still have a 7600
Although i plan on changing that when i get my new pc here in about a month.
And petmoose......that PC isnt going to last you that long, with that type of price your bound to run into problems, and i'm serious......the specs......
too bad......
I REALLY need a new one. Mine doesn't really handle newer games very well, and some of the ones I want the most won't even run on it lol.
A P4 2.4 with 1GB of RAM and a R9600X% are the excerpts.

And I just built a new computer, so I'm set (would like to upgrade to the GTX, though ;)).
Who?

Nah, my PC is pretty good at the moment, it pretty much runs everything at high, so I'm okay for now.
hehe it is an awesome machine, they custom OC'd it...
nice replies all, cept teh flamers ;(petmoose_com
Custom OC'd it? You mean overclocked it? Son, are you slow or something?
No, you computer isn't all that. Aside from the video card, it's all value priced hardware. I know because I built an almost identical one (it has a faster AMD processor) last week. It's pretty nice, but there are vastly superior rigs out there. For example, one that actually uses the SLI mobo.
Oh, and I built mine for around $700. Tell your mom she paid too much for your new toy.
