who is getting the witcher?

Don't listen to this person the witcher is freaking sweet. I've been playing it and loving it.

Not bashing the game, but its a pet peeve of mine to see posts like this.. Why because your opinion/feelings on the game is better then his?

I just noticed that they are both CNET Networks Entertainment, I wonder why they have 2 sites that do the same thing. Does anyone know of another site that averages reviews?

No-one if they have any sense. The graphics are great, but EAX doesn't work under Vista. The voice acting is painfully poor and combat and movement are sluggish and frustrating. Collision detection is rubbish too. There is a great game (well) hidden in here, but the overall effect is that the game has been released too soon and isn't finished. Constant interruptions for loading totally ruin any chance of immersion in the game and even after installing the 100mb+ patch, there are quests that seem to be lacking any logic and seem to be broken. Oh, and it can crash when leaving a building to go outside too. Sorry to be a killjoy, but I was really hoping for good things from The Witcher and have been badly disappointed.Mognificus

1st post on a level 1 account. Those are usually very credible. I'll get the game when I can get direct download it for a decent price (not $72 USD).

I will be getting the witcher sometime after christmas.

Up to now the game is pritty good, combat is quite slick when you account for magic and potions, story and atmosphere are also very good. The only few points I can think some people might be put off by the load times but for me that dose not put me off a truley great game.

For anyone into RPGs and a great storyline this is a must

rpg goty for sure I am at chapter 2 now and it is amazing especially the world and how adult everything in it is.

I have it, this game is freaking awesome.

The combat system is kind of quirky, but you get used to it and it's actually quite fun.
