I own three last Gen consoles, (I only bought the PS2, the other two were hand-me-downs), I have a decent PC ,(Plays most most recent games on Medium settings), thinking of getting a X360. I like to have variety with my gaming options, because to be honest I can't stick with FPS & RTS & WRPGs all the time, I need a change, sometimes I feel like playing a JRPG, taking turns & whatnot & playing games that will never see the light of day on the PC (legally anyways), playing with local freinds (seeing as how they hate PC gaming, mainly because of the memorization all the keys, has them going crazy). It's also nice to have a "backup" when your PC starts giving you random errors, like for example I can't play the original Half-life on this computer (never could) because when I pick up the HEV suit it crashes & gives me "Sound Error Volume 403" (Plays fine on my old Windows 98 computer though) . TheFLCLPope88

That "Sound Error Volume 403" is something that I was getting when I tried installing and playing my Half-Life game...I believe it has something to do with the fact that you might have you sound turned up too high in the options in the game. Or you need to download the latest driver for your sound card...

I know that the solution to fixing the problem was actually very simple and something I would have never thought about doing. I do believe you need to just adjust down your volume settings in the game.

PC / 360 / DS here. I do buy multiple systems for the exclusives. I don't have the time to play them all, but I find the time eventually.

I used to be a PC only knda guy. Then I bought my PS3 and now I must admit, I have not spent nearly as much time on the PC as I used to. But for games like CoD4, it will be PC all the way. Consoles just cannot replace the experience you get from using a good gaming rig for an FPS.

I also have a Wii, but that is basically my $250 Bowling Machine.

ehh, i got a PS2, i might buy a PS3 if they ever come down in price, and id buy it mostly as a blueray player... cause answer me this? why the hell would i spend 60 bucks on a game that doesnt look as good, run as good, more akward to play (controller), and i can have it cheaper on the PC 40-50 ducketts?

IMO the only thinga console is good for is football and racing games w/ friends. and i think racing is still better on PC, doubt it? go pick up GTR2 for 20-30 bucks, maybe the best racing game in every aspect!? what im trying to say is consoles are just slowly going to morph into pc's, there already so close, just un-upgradeable pc's w/ less options. i just dont have the mula as of right now to buy a nextgen console and a kickbutt tv w/ connections to play games that still wont look as good as my PC.

PC, 360, Wii, Gamecube, N64, Virtual Boy, Super Nes, Nes, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS 1, PS 2, Intellevision, Gameboy, DS, Neo Geo Aes (yes i own a Neo Geo), PSP, Commodore 64, Gameboy Color. I'm not rich by any means just a fan of gaming. I mostly play PC for StarCraft nowadays, 360 for sports or halo with family. Guitar Hero on ps2. No time anymore for all my japanese rpgs or crazy adventure games.

I'd love to get a Neo Geo. WAY out of my price range though. Does SNK still service those? I know they did not to long ago.

I own every console ever made except for Xbox and the "current" Nintendo and Sony systems. I have every other system just for "blockbuster" titles and I only buy them when they're $10 or $20. I'll never buy an Xbox because I'm a PC gamer. Xbox and PC are mutually exclusive to those who care deeply about PC gaming.

I always used pcs for my hardcore needs and online gameplay and got at least a console for playing with friends at home or to satsfy my japanese rpgs needs. Now games are going online and too hardcore and all that crap so I got a wii to play agains friends and leave my pc for my hardcore personal needs. I cant see a reason to buy an xbox 360 so I may be buying a ps3 in a near future for ff and metal gear, and thats it. (I dont like halo so mass effect is the only xbox title that I want, but probably we will have it onj pc in a near future just like gears)

Consoles are only good because they don't come with updated hardware every month. They stay the same (generally) until they are obsolete 4-6 years later. Good thing about this is that games are optimized for the system and don't generally lag (some games have poor programming so thats not entirely true). Currently the Xbox 360 is the only system that is really good for people who enjoy mature games, because it supplies all the FPS's. I personally cant stand Wii and haven't touched a PS3 yet, Wii's in my opinion are way to overrated and currently have no good games (although when SSBB comes out ill most likely have to take my words back) PS3 has had no amazing games yet that I have noticed, this is probably because of poor advertisement and that there is so many Xbox 360 fan-boys out there spreading all the info about there games rather then PS3. PC's are awesome, but I grew up on systems and games just don't feel like games unless there on a console. Also I personally thing that use of a game-pad on a computer isn't the same as a game-pad for a system (It just seems like a waste, since you have better precision with a mouse and keyboard generally) although I do play on buying one because some games are hard as hell to play, namely emulators in general and 3rd person action games like Prince of Persia (haven't played it for PC so I'm just stereotyping on the fact that emulators are so hard to use that it must be lol). So yea consoles are better for playing in a sense, but this may only be because i have been tainted by them :P.

PC/360/Wii and DS. Bought the 360 as a Next Gen console realising that more and more games were going Multi-Platform I decided to buy that thinking I wouldnt miss anything, Which apart from Resistance I havent. I bought the Wii for the Nintendo games as iv been a fan of them for 14 years. And the DS I bought simply for gaming on the go.

I started with the original Xbox, then drifted over to PC gaming (which I'll be upgrading again soon) and continue to play both (though I play more on the PC now than I did on the Xbox). I do plan on purchasing a 360, most likely after MS comes out with the smaller 65nm chip which should help it run cooler than the current models.....but looking forward to the 360 because of the game selection it offers and I still play on my old Xbox (it also has a great game selection)

TurboGrafx 16

It's very sad to see that up to half of PC gamers could own an Xbox.

Let's hope that the other half doesn't sell out and PC gaming doesn't die!

D9-THC

What really surprises is me how many of these people can afford to game on PC and they also own 2 or 3 of the current gen consoles....

Damn, I wish my money grew on the house plants that I have here....I know for the life of me I couldn't ever afford to get my hands on a 360 or PS3, at least without saving up for quite a long time. My wife is buying me a Wii for Christmas....but I know she's really buying it for herself because she likes playing it and I could careless if we owned one.

I'm content with my PC and I don't feel I need to play every single game out there. I guess I feel that most console games feel dumbed down when compared to PC games, but that could just be my own biased opinion.

I'm mainly a pc gamer but I just bought a wii two days ago. It's alot of fun because the whole family can play it together. I have zero interest in ever buying a ps3 or 360 though. For those type of games, I would much rather just play them on pc.

I love my pc. I have more games on it than anyone can imagine. I am tired of having to upgrade all the time. For the time being I have been completely in to my XBOX 360 and I think it is amazing. I will do a Wii for the kids this Xmas. They have a DS Lite (*which I really enjoy) and gamecube *(which we have had a ton of fun with). I also have a PS2, a dreamcast, Genesis, SuperNes, Nes, TG16, Neo Geo and a Vtech Vsmile for the 4 year old.

Pc's rock but it's a BIG hassle and I am a busy man where time is money. For now *(even though my allegiance is to the PC), I am a console man.

I have a 360 besides my PC...and sometimes I wonder why as the only game I play these days on my 360 is Oblivion, which I could have got for my PC as my PC can handle it...but, I got it for a Christmas present, I wasn't going to complain, lol...that and I wanted Call of Duty 3, and that did not come out on the PC unfortunately...

I grew up gaming on consoles, and then switched to PC gaming in the mid-90s. A few years back, I decided to get back into console gaming a little more. Most of my gaming time is still on the PC anymore, but I do own a 360 and a Wii.

I have a PC and many consoles (that I purchased with my own money). I actually started on consoles (SNES) but now i own a PS2, Gamecube, N64, and an old Sega Genesis that hasn't been played for years. I am mostly a PC gamer but before I had a PC it was console games. I play both because of propriotary games such as God of War only being on the PS2 or Smash Brothers Melee and StarWars Rogue Squadronbeing only on the Gamecube. Then the PC is the only one with the first Call of Duty, Morrowind with all expansion packs, Postal 2, Starcraft, Medieval 2 Total War, and Best Star Wars games. PCs and consoles have something to offer, it just comes down to will you use it, does it have games you like and can you afford it are questions to answer when looking to buy a console along with the PC you already have.

You know what, you don't NEED to upgrade all the time. You don't need to play a game on ultra high in 19xx by 1xxx to enjoy it. I don't upgrade at all I usually buy a comp and have it until it's outdated and then buy a new one, works fine for me.

Oh, I've had a NES, which I last turned on like, seven to eight years ago. Heh, anyway, apart from having a PC (specs in sig), I also own a PlayStation Portable. I love it.
