Who think COD:Black Ops 2 will be worth it?

I haven't played COD in awhile and just a tad of the zombie thing but it was just kinda boring. Thinking of getting black ops 2, the zombie thing sounds better with 8 players etc. What do you guys think about this upcoming title?

I think it'll be great, because the only thing wrong with MW3 (for me) was the anti-cheat, and this time they are using VAC which has a good track record.

Im pretty excited for it and I dont really care for COD. That zombie mode sounds and looks awesome! I like multiplayer becase I like games that utilize my headphones. Like Bad Company 2

At $50 with free DLC maybe, at $60 with $15 DLC no. It does look like an improvement over other recent CoDs though.

The marketing for CoD has always been incredibly effecitve, so I'd wait until it comes out and take stock of the game to see if it is actually different from what we have been getting for the last few years.

It looks much better than MW3 and appears to have a good amount of content but I'd stay wary and wait for community reactions after launch before putting in the money.

I don't have the money to pre-purchase it right now so I'll just wait for reviews.

I think its a little absurd how they are giving away Nuketown 2025 for pre-purchasers only.

I've been burnt out on the COD series for a while now, and I haven't seen anything with Black Ops 2 that looks like it will change that.

I absolutely loved COD4, but the series has slowly and steadily gone downhill with each release after that, in my opinion.

I've played the games for hundreds of hours, but I'm at a point now where until they release something that is truly fresh and new, I will just stay away and play other games. I've had my fill.

Maybe. I'm gonna take a chance on it, because.. what the hell. The maps look more open (which was my primary complaint with Blops), and the game looks like it's based on MW2/MW3 engine instead of the monstrosity that was the Blops engine.

An extra $50 for the DLC, though? I dunno. I'm not big on spending that much extra for any game, unless it's a second copy.

The DLC season's pass thing is $50 on its own. If all DLC was free, I doubt they'd be selling that.

On another note (no pun intended) I think if you enjoy COD then it will be worth it to you. Play whatever looks fun, only you can know if it's worth it or not.

I'm getting it, the story sounds interesting (if cliche), and it seems to be doing a lot of things to freshen up the series. It can't be any worse then Medal of Awful.

2) MP 6 months down the track is full of hackers, and also mostly empty except for Deathmatch which is full of hackers.

I think call of duty black ops 2 will be really good especially with the new things they added to zombie. I pre ordered...

Definitely getting it. I liked Black Ops. Thought it was one of the better entries in the series, along with W@W.

A year is quite sometime to put into a FPS anyway. Not to say they shouldn't aim for "timelessness" but COD is simple mindless enjoyment anyway. Most games I play for longer than a year are fighting games and RPGs

It looks like more Call of Duty.

I played CoD4: MW, CoD: MW2, CoD: BO and a little of CoD: MW3. I never paid for any of them and I never played them on PC. Two of my cousins were addicts (one got over it, the other still is addicted) but I completed MW, MW2 and BO, played multiplayer and coop and they're all way too similar. Even the little I played of MW3 actually put me to sleep with the 360 controller in my hands.

I will say though that the Zombiies mode in Black Ops was really fun (even though it was only two maps), and I really enjoyed the gambling aspect of certain multiplayer matches. I liked stuff like One in the Chamber. It was fun and I played it more frequently than the three MW games.

If you haven't played a CoD game in a few years it might be worth getting just to see how Treyarch expands on Zombies and the gambling part of the multiplayer. But for me personally, it's just the same game with a higher coop player count. I'll stick to other games. But BO was fun enough that I think BO2 might be worth getting if you haven't played CoD in a while.

Don't expect to be amazed or anything, but if you're cool with shutting your brain off and getting Michael Bay-esque stupid entertainment you should enjoy yourself.

Auto-aim is a pain in the ass on the console versions. I hope it's removed for PC. You literally hit the left bumper on the 360 controller and it basically lines up a headshot for you. So lame. But like I said, silly entertainment. But if you haven't played for a few years you might get a kick out of it.

As always, I'm sure the muliplayer and zombie mode will be very well done. I just hope the new setting is used to the single player's advantage.

Personally, I would have preferred another cold war set game.

On Topic: I have Black Ops 2 on Pre order just because of the Zombie content c4l1d3n. I have a feeling it will be spectacular. Don't let the trolls bother you, I've seen them around and thats their life as sad as it may be. Have a good one, peace!

Treyarch makes good CoD games. They also make good PC versions of their games. Despite Black Ops having some framerate issues, once those got sorted out, Black Ops had a lot of great things going for it. It also didn't take itself too seriously. There was a hidden top-down shooter in the single player and the ability to play Zork II. The bonus level was also rather hilarious.

On the multiplayer side it was much more fully featured for the PC than the Modern Warfare games. Actual dedicated servers and Steamworks integration are awesome. Also the multiplayer is more balanced than in Modern Warfare and the maps are far better.

Blops 2 seems to improve this a bit. They are promising DX11 support (won't make it look that much better) which means the game *should* run better on more machines at launch. As long as they keep the dedicated servers and Steamworks, it should be good.
