Who's buying CS:GO?

As an avid counter strike fan i've played them all, my favourite being 1.6, although I then moved on to source. I decided to pre-order CS:GO so i could get into the beta, im not too sure what to think of it so far, what are your thoughts and are you going to buy it?

I will even though I suck at it. Lately the beta has crashed everytime I play it, but the strange thing is that if I play arms race it doesn't.

Am I the only one who couldn't get access to the closed beta?dreamtheater36

Well they hit me with a super huge update today and the game seems to be in great shape, especially compared to before.

I was top cs go hater til i tried the 2gb update the released today.

They fixed teh scoreboard a bit, still not showing ping though.. they added moving particles at start menu.. added classic deagle animation..

Well it feels great now. Played some dm rounds and it's very responsive now, those headshot bursts reminded me totally of 1.6.

Bad thing is that m4 is ruined, no silencer + it's really unaccurate, ak is so much greater here.

Oh and they added different voice commands on ct and t side, battlefield style :D

Im in the beta. Ive spent my time with it. Im done.

Im sure its great for CS heads, and it is fun but there is no point me buying it.

Thanks for the responses guys, was good to read feedback on it, cant wait to try out the beta on the 14th, just feel like I've over played source, so it will be interesting to see how this one plays. The only thing im not too sure about is the graphics, there not bad but i feel they could be slightly better?

Does it have bots like CS:Source? I'll probably pick it up if it has bots.. Now i live out in the country with satelite internet, makes my pings really high so playing online can be pretty laggy sometimes.Rattlesnake_8

The update fixed the crashing problem I was having so I'm getting it for sure.

Ill grab it when its on sale, been in the beta for ages now and while its good, I still enjoy Source a little more.

I'm in the beta. So far, it's very mediocre. I'm even doubting if it will shape up to be anything significant in the Counter-Strike community.

Nah it still sucks, it's nothing new, just the exact same thing down to the maps even. The only difference is it's worse so you might as well stick to whatever CS version you're playing already because CS:GO is as bad as CZ.

sucks I played it today for a few hrs. recoil on certain guns is laughable at best. the animations are disgusting from guns to the models. the fog still needs fixing on certain maps. lightning is better but still not good. no m4 silencer, no usp silencer, retarded guns, etc. bad game.

I am, I only played a bit of 1.6 but I enjoy CSS. Trouble is, its hard to find genuine matches in CSS nowadays, or at least ones I can actually win or avoid hackers. If a server isn't playing some custom mode on a custom map, its playing with the guys who do nothing but play CSS and hand me my ass, or its a server that is FINALLY playing a legitimate match and not full of God tier players, until a hacker comes along.

Its rough stuff, I do wish I got into it during its heyday.

It's only $15 - why not?

the difference is humungous
specially for dat close range lging, although zubin says the difference is huge for bf3 as well. I am sure it is. Also helps a lot for that abusive AR tracking in tribes ascend.

also i tink you are exaggerating the differences between TN and IPS. IPS vs top TN displays like these, the only main difference is viewing angles.

I may get it at some point but not on launch day. I got into the beta about a month ago. I havent tried all the guns. I only played it for 2 hours and I liked the feel of the MP7. That was the gun I used the most. I also liked the new grenades. Napalm looks nice.

you was saying? HoN has 90k on weekends, I imagine lol is like 150-200k. That ofcourse doesn't mean that Both groups of CS players will jump ship, but for £10 to try and see if its better is a good deal.
