I haven't played CS for 5 years because I'm a nub at this game to play competitively and got bored of the mods (soccer and zombies modes FTW):D

If this game is more nub-friendly I might get it.

LOL, so... I checked out your claim that cs 1.6 and cs: source combined don't equal the number of people playing DOTA 2, and your CLEARLY wrong. Unless 53,702 (CS) + 48, 140 (CS:S) is less than 75,852 (DOTA 2). I think you should learn to add before you post evidence that proves your clearly misinformed.

My gf, and I will be getting it. We didn't do the beta. She has never played CS, and its been a long time since I have, but I think we will manage just fine.;)

Honestly for $15 brand new... That is a great price! We wanted to pre-order, but alas, we have to wait for next pay period lol.

I'm not too much into that world of silly gaming tournaments anymore. But fatal1ty is one of those early champions on quake so sounds very 90s.

I will becuase I love Counterstrike. This game is how Counterstrike is really meant to be played, highly competitivly.

I understand that ppl who preordered for gettin access to the beta are anxious but all that mad uncivilised spamming is not justified, and they will all realise when they get dissapointed with cs go. I've had the beta since may and i barely played it.

I am interested, however I am finding Counter Strike Source quite challenging. Is the new Counter Strike going to be more accessible to new players like myself (I struggle to get kills, I seem to get one shot kills on myself but can not seem to hit other players at all, perhaps I am firing too far away or in some instance I get spawn killed). I would be interested if they make this game easier to get into for newer players thus level the playing field (i.e the matchmaking sounds good as the top level pro players can play each other and the lower end players such as myself can get better and have some fun playing the game without dying every time I spawn haha).Garfield360UK

so after giving the game a 5 hour go I have to say I really like it so far. That being said, theres definitely a lot that old cs players will have to get used to. I didn't like it very much during my first two games, it was pretty shocking. After the ton of tiny differences began to settle in though I started to enjoy it more and more. Its definitely captured my interest, I cant remember the last time I played the base de mode for hours on end. My only solid complaints are that the m4 just still feels bad to me and I hate the lack of a silencer, it doesn't seem like you can still use sprays (but that just might be because no one thought to use them...but i doubt it), mouse acceleration is on by default (before I realized this I hated every moment of playing, lol), the default crosshair is bad but you can switch to classic BUT you can not shrink the classic crosshair like you could in css so its hard for me to nail really distant shots, the molotov doesnt seem useful (probably wrong about that, but its just my first impression), and sometimes matches of arms race (basically gun game with no grenade round) can fall victim to some spawn camping and the spawn protection doesnt necessarily stop it
