Why all the hate for GTX 580??

if you use a 580 or 590, you best be using a 30'' monitor or perhaps dual 30'' monitors. Most people don't need that much juice. I remember back in '06 when I jumped on the 8800 GTX bandwagon and blew $500 on that thing that barely lasted a year before much better stuff was out. Then I picked up a 4870 1gb for $120 and couldn't be happier. Nothing has strained it yet

I think you may be the only person on the planet who felt it necessary to upgrade from an 8800gtx after a year. Those cards are well over 4 years old now and still run most games well up to about 1680x1050.
