max payne looks completly differnt in 2.

that gangster vinne gognito was never sounded like this or looked like he did in max payne 1.

mona looked drastically different.

whyd they change soo much.? it wasnt too bohtersome but was just wondering why they would change the chracters etc for no reason

ps : has any ne 1 unlocked this weird stage after finishing max payne 1 on the hardest difficulty.its thisweird stage where there are like 100s of guys to kill.how do you play it.?

Max Payne 2 had bigger budget than MP1... That's why things changed a lot.

They hired actors to have their faces and movements scanned, and better voice-work.

I prefer the characters in MP2, after all, they are better worked on.

Max Payne looked like he was passing a bowling ball through his rectum in the first one. It needed to be fixed.

Yeah that clinched face of his in the first game was pretty priceless.

I never got around to playing much of the second game. I think I was kinda turned off by the changes from the first game, as well.

Because developers of sequals are notoriously clueless about what made the original games hits.

I agree with you completely. The style, faces and voices of the original were much better than the sequel. Max of MP1 was a punk, a bitter outsider, a loose cannon and he looked and talked like it. Max of MP2 looked and sounded like Mitt Romney.

The irony is Max didn't look and sound the way he did because the MP1 team has such a highly defined vision of what they were trying to create. The face and voice is one of the developers. The face and voice of Mona was one of the devs real life girlfriend. Those weren't careful artistic choices, they were what they could afford, who was available. It's mostly great luck (for them and us) that it clicked like it did.
