Why do a LOT of people still play Counter Strike after 5 years since it came out

The game is boring... its a waste of time.... just play modern warfare for pete's shake

They don't make games like Quake 3 anymore because FFA deathmatch doesn't work in the context of an Axis vs. Allies game. The last big game that tried it was UT3, but everything's crap about that one.

The genre is still popular though. Quake Live, Nexuiz, Warsow have thousands of players.

I'd rather play Hello Kitty Online. :)

Because people think it's a fun game... just throwing that out there.

Thought I should also add, when I was buying a laptop I wanted to make sure it could at least run source (CSS).

i love css but i think BF2 is the best :)

you know what ill edit it css is the best when you want some fast action good fun, bf2 is the best when you want to take some flags and respawn :)

Yup source doest suck but the Original owns and 5 v 5 CS can't be beaten. I don't care for frag fest COD games with all the annoying RPG crap and so many noobs on COD 4 means the game requires no skill.

Let me guess you spend most of your time spectating dead in CS? I can see why you would prefer e z moad CS that is CoD. More importantly, why do you care what people play?

Because it is still good and fun to play.

On my side I prefer RS:AS and ArmA over anything else. I did find CoD boring fast. RS have everything a dude with realism need. Sure it's old and could be retouched, it's still the one I did enjoy the most. Not so far there's ArmA with the multiple mods that ACE provided. It's the only game I did found the size and strategy fun. There's so much stuffs possible that it is almost endless. I didn't play the 2nd so far but I think it miss some stuffs that was in the ACE mods so far.

Everyone likes different games and they have the right! I sure would not cry because some people play a game I don't like. They probably know why they play it and love it... or else I wonder why they play them and waste time...

Because it's fun.
