It doesn't APPEAL to the Ipad(social people) crowd.
What does that mean? Final Fantasy and other games that "don't appeal" have been ported[QUOTE="jettpack"]

yeah, but there are enough people who like games like us and own ipads that would totally buy that. Think about it. it would be so awesome! What are you talking about? There are people with iPad that play Chess and Solitaire on it.... why do people think that just because you buy an Apple Product then automatically you must be dumb, not know much about computers and like "flashy" things with no substance?Because they are incompatible.
People who buy Apple products such as the ipad are more interested in the flash than the substance.
Fallout 1 has nothing of flashy.

Why do people want to play an FPS game with a touch screen device???? C_Rule
Fallout 1 dude, it's not an FPS.
EDIT:
BTW it's an awesome idea TC, I'd totally get it if I had an iPad. I would love it for iPhone but I guess everything would be a bit too small.

Oops, ballsed up there, didn't I. Not really a fan of the fallout series, didn't realise the first wasn't an FPS. Just had a quick look at Fallout 1, looks like something that would be great, for a slate PC.Too few fans who have an iPad and will play it. Besides, who will want to play on iPad? Play it on a laptop if you want to play on the move.
oldbomb
You clearly have not played on an iPad or iPhone yet I assume?
I have a few awesome games on my iPhone... where I can play on the move without requiring me to take a laptop.

I own 2 iPhones so yes, I have played games on the iPhone. These games are optimized to be played on the PC. You consider your iPad a complete "Computer", which it is not.
I'd buy it. Final Fantasy proved to me that big, full RPGs can be done incredibly well on tablets. With the right amount of tweaking obviously.

What the heck do chess and solitaire have to do with Fallout 1?
And...perhaps because that's what apple products are and what apple advertises them to be?
I think whoever ports it would seriously need to license that Awesome Button © thing from Bioware. C'mon, how great would that be?
Speak for yourself buddy, I have an iphone and I enjoy any high quality and deep game I can get my hands on (yes they are there)Because they are incompatible.

But would you really want to play Fallout 1 or 2 on that small of a screen? It is already easy enough to overlook things in the game using a full sized monitor, I can't imagine how difficult it would be searching for objects on an iPhone. I also would hate it if the modified the game in any way to make it more "accessible" especially if that meant changing it from turn-based to twitchy-finger-based combat. That's akin to colorizing Citizen Kane, reading a novelization of a game, or cat juggling - all bad ideas.
I don't consider my iPhone anything ( I haven't got an iPad) But you are wrong if u think u can't use an iPad or iPhone for gaming on the moveFelipeInside
I think iPhone/iPad are excellent gaming platforms in their own right but they are not setup for playing FPS/RPG games. These games are best played on the PC.
There was a Russian guy, porting Fallout to the Windows Mobile. Sure hope he will transfer that work onto the Android. But Fallout for the iPad is a good idea, I'm sure there are people buying it.

I'm sure Angry Birds and the likes are as deep as it gets ( ) doesn't change the fact that Fallout 1 and the iPad crowd are incompatible.
Considering iphone and ipad games are supposed to be played in spare time, a game that requires you to focus your attention span as much as Fallout isn't really going to attract anyone.

Well it obviously would have to be modified to work better on a smaller screen (with touch controls), not just ported over. You say "a game that requires you to focus your attention span as much as Fallout isn't really going to attract anyone." Have you seen how many purchases Final Fantasy 1-2-3 and Tactics has had on the APP Store?Bingo. You don't buy an iPad to play Fallout on it. You buy one to show off and play shallow casual games on it. :)Because they are incompatible.

Yay, those hipsters are so damn cool that games like this won't be dloaded by them as they're not trendy. Wow theres no need of it, who got an ipad here btw?
Can't understand why angry birds is so popular, first time u play it is like, ahh funny... but it's pretty lame n boring.
Those damn thick glassed retro fake liberal individuals are so idiotic, with all their cool apple stuff, they can't turn off the damn device even on a 1hour flight, they gotta be tapping bubbles on the ipad or wavin the water... i feel sometimes like smashin em with the tablet on their heads meh..
Sorry for my raging lol but couldn't get my mouth shut

Please read my posts. FF games require attention since they are RPG with lots of stats, spells etc. I also said that if Fallout was to be ported, it would have to be MODIFIED to accommodate smaller screen and touch, maybe even sacrificing some elements.[QUOTE="alan_carter"][QUOTE="Zubinen"]

Why are you repeating the port part? I'm not arguing with it.
Also, what makes you think stats and spells make the concentration required to play FF similar to Fallout's? You do realize how difficult D&D-based RPGs are compared to jRPGs, right?
Aren't final fantasy games like the original pokemon games? Those games are as shallow as an RPG can get, and are perfect for spare time gaming. They should port Pokemon in anything.

No, I mean that not ALL games on iPad/iPhone are like Angry Birds where they are just casual like lots of people posted here. There are games which require a lot more attention, be it Fallout or Final Fantasy. They have Avadon on Iphone or Ipad im pretty sure. That is a pretty good rpg that in some ways is like fallout 1, same view, in depth rpg, good characters, etc..
That does not have a Final Fantasy type of following, its (avadon) for more hardcore or old school rpg fans. i was kinda surprised it was on there myself actually :P

jesus man. WTF. Liberal? why are you bringing politics into this. Yeah man, eff liberals because they believe in equal rights and that we shouldnt polute things.... man, whats wrong with you, why all the pointless hate. Anyway, how does anything you just said relate to the topic in the slightest? *******.ugh. anyway, i think it might be to complicated for the small screen of an iphone, but on an ipad i cant see why it wouldnt work. Also it probably wouldnt be that expensive to port/remake it for IOS.
the 16 bit final fantasy games are'nt shallow at all. also, pokemon is only shallow on the surface, the amount of depth in breeding and stats in those games is totally nuts.Aren't final fantasy games like the original pokemon games? Those games are as shallow as an RPG can get, and are perfect for spare time gaming. They should port Pokemon in anything.
