why is far cry 2 going to be one of the best fps??

Thereare already a few videos up, and some of those are debatably pre-recorded, made with the sole purpose of marketing the game. It's also fair to assume many videos will be coming in the future. It's not like Ubi is gonna not tell us anything about it then just release it. Watch this space.

Fanboy is a word I dn't really like using. It's condescending and most people, even the most thickheaded, don't deserve it. But that said, saying that there's no way a game could be bad is teeting precariously on the edge of fanboyism. Here's an obvious way it could turn up bad: it's a Ubisoft game. Double Agent, GRAW, Vegas. All the recent Ubi PC games were very poorly optimised, had absurdly high hardware requirements and still ran like junk, while not even looking all that great. IF FarCry 2 doesn't really run well on anything, who's gonna call it great? I won't.

And then, how do we know any of the game's "features" will be in the final product? Look at Crysis, it promised a long list of things that didn't make it into the final game - why couldn't the same happen with FC2? Because we saw a video? That video was made with the express purpose of making you want the game. Adverts don't tend to say Hey, our product is junk, but buy it anyway! Please! They manipulate and coerce to make you want it. The game we saw and the game we play may not be the same thing.

All that said, Far Cry 2 does look like one of the best games coming in '08, and I'm looking forward to it, but I'm not ready to drop to my knees before the altar of Ubisoft before I play the game. A healthy amount of crynicism is, well, healthy.

Far Cry 2 is made by the ones that raped Far Cry with console versions

I did not have high hopes for the game because of the developer at first...

but than I saw that gameplay demonstration and I was instantly amazed...if they could pull it off, than it may very well turn into the best FPS of next year, if not more.

It looks really good from what i've seen of it.

And, unlike Crysis, the fact that it hasn't been compared to Jesus Christ is probably going to keep the hype-meter down and keep everyone's expectations at normal levels.

You guys need to check this out, I think Far Cry 2 has a shot at kicking Crysis' ass. IF you watch the ending of the second part there's a group of animals there and the view is beautiful, It looks like an amazing game. The grass can catch fire and the wind affects the direction of the fire...It's crazy, you guys should check this out.
