why is my ping so high on BFBC2 but not TF2

when I play TF2 my ping is around 40 but on BFBC2 it is around 270 why is this, also can I lower it, it lags alot sometimes

Be sure you are NOT connecting to European/American servers (depends on where you are from?)

Pings in Bad Company are usually higher displayed then they are really ping of 40 on tf = 120 in bc2

Your ping depends on what server you're connected to, just go on servers that are closer to you.
