As well as about 1 million other places on the net you could find out about wow, so much in fact you'de puke. Not that I'm opposed to telling you about it mind you. It just seems silly when all this info is already out there and typed out. Go to the forums and browse the threads, you'll get an immediate feel for the state of the game and what's good and bad about it.

if $15/month is "pretty heavy" then you should avoid playing video games entirelybecause you obviouslycannot aford it. I just cut down on Starbucks to 3 less a month and that offset the cost.

My friends made me buy WoW - by droning on about it every damn day. After 2 weeks I stopped playing it.

Don't buy WoW. Sure it might be fun, but you'll probably spend too much time on it like most people. You can have fun in other ways. When you quit WoW all your invested time will pretty much be wasted. If you read a good book or play a great SP game you get more out of those hours, they'll probably be enriching. Grinding isn't. It's just wasted time seriously.

Just try the free 7 day trial. If you like it, buy it. If you don't, don't.

Blizzard is clever as hell in that they knew that by making the leveling system easy as hell untill like 30, they'd draw people in. By that time, people would already have friends on their list, and a decent about of time in the game, and they wouldn't want to leave all that behind. If you have any sort of an addictive personality, be warned.
