The textures in Crysis were simply god-awful, and I wrote a post about it after having bought the Maximum Edition last month - my first experience with Crysis.
Man, was I ever surprised. I was honestly shocked that nobody had mentioned how ugly the textures were. The water - yeah, simply amazing. The trees - okay, maybe they were amazing two years ago, they didn't exactly bowl me over when I saw them for the first time last month though. Crysis is starting to look dated, no question about it. That's what the OP is talking about. I saw it too. I mean, if you're late to the party then you're seeing Crysis through a different lens. Myself, I prefer a sharp looking game to a game that, for whatever reasons, is fuzzy. And Crysis is definitely not sharp.
(And please don't tell me that my computer must suck, because it doesn't.)
But what's this high-res texture pack thing that I keep on hearing about? (And by the way, if Crysis wasn't suffering from a texture problem, then why did somebody feel the need to create one such mod to address the issue? Well, obviously because Crysis suffers from a texture problem. I mean, duh.)
Anybody got a link? Whenever I install these mods I always seem to run into problems - so how easy is the installation?
