What about the video card? Is it an integrated card? If so, it probably doesn't support T&L. Try lowering the settings you play with.

I have an HP Laptop and even though I should be able to play some games, it freezes, crashes and all the usual stuff. I guess some laptops aren't made for gaming, and could be the case that yours isn't. The key here should be your graphics card, works for the usual presentations, video playback but not Video Gaming. Try another game and see how you fare, if the results are similar, well there you go. BTW HP SUCKS.

Looks like you have an integrated card, which is why you can't play it.

what is an integrated card?knightsofwar

It's a chip on your MOBO that acts like a video card but leeches memory from your main ram.  Since the specs don't list a video card I am almost positive that the PC in question is using an Intel onboard video chip which is going to severly hamper your ability to play games on it.
