[QUOTE="artur79"] [QUOTE="biggest_loser"]Yeah? Third person....thats different from RPG....hello? Mass Effect is more likely to be called an RPG than Third Person surely...when I think of Third Person I always think of gunplay and rolling lol...yes rolling, cant do that in FP....not stat points..and don't bring up San Andreas....lousy Stamina rating..biggest_loser
Wouldn't you call Kotor, Witcher or Mass Effect third person games? TP is a view (so is FP BTW, Morrowind is a first person/third person RPG, just to give you an example). You can have a shooter, RPG or adventure in third person view and call them third person games.
They have the third person perspective sure.....but I'd still label them as RPGs. I haven't played those games but from what I've read they're about choices and skill trees. Thats not traditionally what TPS have been about? Look at Tomb Raider, the game that invented the third person.
Athird-person game is not a third-person shooter (TPS), it's any game that is in third-person perspective. So while, no, that isn't what TPS's are about, it doesn't matter because he's not saying they're third-person shooters, he's saying they're third person games.
The issue here is that you said Max Payne was one of the best "third-person games" when I'm sure what you meant was "third-person shooters," since to say third-person games would mean you're pitting against every single game that has its perspective in third-person, and not just shooters in third-person. That's why he challenged you in the first place.
