will an ata harddrive work on a sata mobo? i need to know because i just realised i ordered a sata board and an ata harddrive

Well, Ata hardrives need to be hooked up to an IDE interface and sata interfaces won't work. Almost all motherboards have an Ide slot but if it only has one IDE slot you could end up sharing a single IDE interface with a media drive and the ATA hardrive which is kind of a pain.

 

But yeah it'll work.Â
