Probably not. Most will suggest the 8800GT because it's powerful and reasonably priced, but if money is an issue, i think the 8600 would suffice for now. Look both of them up on newegg.

Dude, if you are really tight on money, then buy an 8600GT off newegg. I saw some videos on youtube of the 86 running CoD4 fairly well. But if you got some cash to spare, then go with at least a 9600GT.

How much are you willing to spend to upgrade your card?

Nope. Most likely you won't be able to run it. Do you have a budget for upgrading your card?

Also, The single player is short but sweet.

8800 GT. It's only $159.99. Best bang for your buck but it will be obsolete soon.

You can run Call of Duty 4 on a computer that's like six years old. Seriously. I'd be surprised if your computer sucked so bad that you couldn't run it.

It might not look as good as it can, but you'll get a pretty decent image on even a 128 mb graphics card (which is what I have, and it looks great, no lie!)

But I think the game sucks btw

This man speaks the truth. Just for kicks I installed CoD4 on my obsolete laptop. The specs: 1.6Ghz Centrino, 1GB DDR2700, 9600 Pro 128MB, and to top it off a 4200RPM HDD. It ran very smooth and I was even able to turn up a few of the options, so I didn't even have to play in the lowest possible settings. It actually looked pretty damn good as well, unlike some games that look ugly if you don't run it at least on medium. I'm pretty sure CoD4 is running on a "heavily" modified version of the CoD2 engine, so its extremely forgiving.
