Hopefully, Rockstar will announce a date for PC instead of just leaving PC players in the dark.
Traditionally, there's been a 9 month wait from the PS2 launch to Xbox and PC, but since it's launching simultaneously on the 360 and PS3 I would HOPE that it would be sooner. Â
Hope so! But what would the system requirements be?

Shouldn't be anything TOO high. I would guess that any PC capable of running Oblivion/Stalker/Half-Life 2 at full settings would be capable of handling GTA.Â
Rockstar games have never been uber awesome looking. Â
Well yeah....Except for Max Payne! What will be new in this version from San Andreas? biggest_loser
You can go here: http://www.rockstargames.com/IV/trailer_splash.html to watch the trailer.
Timeline wise, San Andreas happened before GTA III. The setting of GTA IV is Liberty City and the main character is Eastern European(Russian, Czech, etc). Gameplay wise? We'll find out with later trailers/developer interviews.Â

and, of course, it's 7 months off for the consoles, meaning it may well be as far off as 16 months for the pcs - just about everyone will have a pc that'll be able to run it more than well enough by then

are you sure its Liberty City? No recgnoizable locations from GTA3 (yea I know GTA1 was in liberty city and doesnt look like GTA3 but this is an exception its 3d now) but I do not think rockstar would place it in Liberty City seeing as thats the city that really got the game started in and not show any memorable locations to excite fans. PLUS there are almost exact recreations of some of the locations in New York : Statue of Liberty, Chrysler, Times Square so hopefully....Rockstar places it in a real world like the Getway did and make it as close as they can to New York or maybe they won't and its just another City thats not Liberty City which I am actually leaning towards more than it being Liberty City or New York. I guess we shall see with time.are you sure its Liberty City? acidBURN1942
the back of the tanker the platypus says liberty city, surely in there intentionally, and the statue of liberty is in - liberty city being based on new york
so, yeah, it's a near certainty that it's set in liberty city, but perhaps not the liberty city we know from gta3 - just as liberty city in gta3 was nothing like the liberty city in gta1, perhaps they simply choose to use the same name
it did look a lot more like new york than gta3's liberty city ever did - statue of liberty and wallstreet were spot on
Well yeah....Except for Max Payne! What will be new in this version from San Andreas? biggest_loserHonestly, why do people think Rockstar made Max Payne? Remedy made Max Payne, and you only need to know how to read to find that out. Besides, Max Payne was a great game, and Rockstar doesn't know how to make great games in the first place...

*ahem*
Max Payne was Co-Developed with Remedy.
Q: So let me get this straight, I've read articles on Max that mention Remedy, 3DRealms, The Gathering of Developers, Rockstar Games, and even Neo and Rockstar Canada. Who's doing what?
A: Remedy is developing the game, all technology, editors, art, sounds, the story, etc. have been done at Remedy office. 3DRealms is taking part in that development by helping out on content and gameplay matters, Scott, George and everyone at 3DR are outstanding hardcore game developers and we really dig working with them. The Gathering is the publisher of the PC version and was responsible for shipping all those Max Payne boxes to the shelves with Take2 handling European distribution. Rockstar Games is the publishing label for the console versions of Max Payne, with Neo handling development of the Xbox version and Rockstar Canada handling development of the PlayStation 2 version. It truly is a worldwide collaborative effort!Rockstar

So they came up with the PS2 and Xbox? Rockstar took the game technology(made by remedy) and tooled it to work on the PS2. It was a gigantic uptaking by all companies involved.
Rockstar didn't just publish the game dude.
nah.....the developer of May Payne is definitely Remedy. no question about that.
downloading the trailer, woot~~
the trailer seems to suggest a darker tone to the game, which is right up to my expectation. i like the protagonist's look too. can't wait!! welcome to Liberty City, mate -- the wonderland where YOU do the selling. :D

Porting it to the PS2 and Xbox does not mean they developed Max Payne DUDE. By your logic, Monolith didn't make F.E.A.R. but co-developed it with Day 1 Studios. Dude, get a grip.[QUOTE="monco59"]No, Remedy made Max Payne, it's as simple as that. Yep. The aiming system is terrible on console. They need to copy Saints Row. Camera is an issue as well on console. They need a fixed camera option.
i'm not concerned about the platform, as it's really not an issue in this multi-platform era. i've been thinking alot about the gameplay though, and how it would take after its wonderful predecessors.
personally, i would like a darker GTA, with full-fledged presentation of the underworld. bring it to the next level unapologetically. what's your expectation, guys?

I disagree about your opinion . Rockstar made , makes , will make great games .
Look at GTA 3 / Vice City / San Andreas / Manhunt / Bully / Max Payne 2 / The Warrior / Midnight Club 2 / X 360 Table Tennis etc . They are all very popular games amongst console to P.C gamers alike.
Rockstar is a very good and popular developer .  And for god's sake please don't try to compare Rockstar with Valve , UBISOFT , CRYTEK etc devs. Rockstar makes good games in their own right's. And trust me when GTA 4 'll come out u'll see its popularity .
