I'd say that it probably will, but given that it's basically the biggest game to hit the 360 or any console really, I'm going to bet that it will be at least 2 years from now when we see it running on PC hardware.

The real reason they wait a while before porting Halo games to the PC is Halo is the type of game that's called a system seller. Some people will buy a 360 now because Halo 3 finally came out on it. Let's not forget Halo is the most popular video games series right now. So they're gonna milk this cow for all it's worth. If it came out on PC at the same time, this would mean less 360 sales (and the holidays are right around the corner...).

Of course there's the only for Vista thing......But i dont think considering the (apparent) quality of some upcoming FPS on pc that a lot of people will churn out on vista JUST so that they can play Halo 3. They're more likely to buy a 360 if they don't already have one if they really wanna play it that bad. Trust me all this has been considered in length by MS, you can be certain. If it would be as or more profitable to release Halo 3 on PC now or soon, they would.

Halo 2 - ported to PC

most likely yes. Bungie still supports the pc community, originating from long ago (well actually they were more supportive of macs, but its still COMPUTERS) so they always try to release Halo a few years after the xbox release. However, I hope it contains a lot more original content and extra features like Halo 1 for the PC, unlike Halo 2 (pc).
