Hey guys i just wanted to know will there be Warcraft 4 because i remember when Warcraft 3 came out in my day every one seemed to be talking about it and i will love it if it happened again !

My guess would be that we're in for a wait as long as or longer than the wait between Starcraft and Starcraft 2. Most people or at least a large portion of people that play WoW nowadays probably have never heard of the RTS's, and releasing WC 4 would probably confuse them. Maybe when WoW cools down a bit they'll consider it.

I doubt there will, I could have sworn I read somewhere that Blizzard is now only using WoW now to further Azuroths story from warcraft 3 and WoW+xpacs.

Yeah it sucks hey. I feel robbed as a loyal Blizzard gamer since Warcraft Orcs and Humans. It was gamers like me, who played all the RTS's they made, that MADE the Warcraft brand name. And now they've turned an awesome RTS series into an MMORPG, which I could not hate more. I really do hope they don't abandon Warcraft 4 because I still play WC3: Frozen Throne online, as do so many other people. Damn money drives everything though - especially for listed companies - and with WoW being the success it is, it won't be until forever that we do get an RTS sequel if it comes at all.

Yes. I mean how many years has it been since Blizzard introduced a new franchise? More than a decade at least. No one can milk a cash cow like Blizzard.

Nope. I think the Warcraft franchise has turned into MMO for good. Starcraft will be their only RTS franchise in the future. They dont need two of those, and people has already showed that they like Warcraft as a MMO. But it is also kinda sad, because the MMO genre is not the best place for telling the great stories that there is in the Warcraft universe. Most of the time it is just about killing all the great characters that there has been created in the past. They have expanded some from of the universe and fleshed out some other stories in WoW, but it doesn't really give you the feeling of an epic story that especially Warcraft 3 gave.

I think so too. Although I would love more than anything for there to be a Warcraft 4. I loved Warcraft 3. Just imagine, Warcraft 3 with today's graphics. Yum..

I only way I could see Warcraft 4 being made if there are enough emails flowing through to Blizz that gets their attention. Even that may be short-lived but it's worth a try. If they have a heart, they would consider complying to the fans.

Honestly the butchered one of my favorite video game characters by making WoW. They are ruining the Warcraft series with Wow. Ilidan already died and now arthas soon. I dont understand how Arthas is able to like 1 hit Illidan in that movie and now he is going to be 10 manned by a bunch of **** in terrible gear. Honestly Arthas should one hit a character in Wow and once your dead you shouldnt be able to revive you should stay permantly dead.

Well, we have starcraft 2 that will come out probably within the year (365 days) and then they will no doubt release an expansion pack...after that they may come up with a new RTS IP or they may go back to warcraft 4..no one knows

Blizzard has stated that as long as World of Warcraft is popular it'll be the method for advancing the story of Warcraft

Blizzard is quickly losing my respect as a premium dev....Starcraft 2 and diablo 3 are probably the last Blizzard games i'll spend my money. i'm quite ready to move on if they don't announce any new IP within the next few years.

So you're hoping that the series goes backward in term of gameplay and become a by-the-book RTS like Starcraft 2. No thanks. I'd like some variety in my RTS.

There is no "end" to a universe. They can always push the events forwards 200-400 years and start a whole new story. The world didn't end after world war 2..so why should azeroth? hmm? hmm? lol
