I'm in the process of building my first computer and have decided to run two 8800gt in SLI, I've already got 1 8800gt on it's way but whilst looking for another one to buy I came across this one on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-GeForce-8800-Alpha-Dog/dp/B0013F1DC0/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1234263399&sr=8-11

My question is is it the same as a normal 8800gt but just a better version of it? Or is it a completely different card due to some minute difference? Would I still be able to run SLI with both of them?

Here's the one I've already bought: http://www.amazon.co.uk/XFX-Nvidia-8800GT-Express-Graphics/dp/B000XQHBEE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1234263399&sr=8-1

Thanks in advance for your help:)

The first card listed actually only has 256mb of video memory, while the one you already have has 512mb. It's still possible to sli, but doing so would cause the video memory of your card to be underclocked to 256mb. It's not worth it.

Depends on how much you're willing to spend on a gpu. You could get another 8800 to save some money, but you could also get pretty much the same performance with a single gtx260 without messing with sli, and without having to worry about sli scaling.
