if your talking about gaming, than yea, you could max out almost every game possible. probably everyone. but u may want to invest in a bigger hd or a SSD. maybe a sata 2 12200 1 tb their cheap and hot right now

absolutely, i have two gtx 260's, and the gtx 295 is just that, but on one card (two gpu's, one card) and i can max anything at 1920x1080p so don't worry, and stop bragging, btw, 3600$ seems a bit steep... where do you live and where are buying from?

Short answer: Yes.

Long answer: "FullHD?" You must be really new to PC gaming...resolutions of 1920x1080 and above have been supported by every major retail game released in the past few years. The only exceptions are generally 2D/indie games.

Consoles gaming always lags far behind PC gaming on the resolution front.

ityll plug into 2 pci e(2) 16x slots. You need at least a 750 power supply(recommended by me) and a 6 and 8 internal power adapter. if not, then skip down to a 9800 GTX or GX2

ok forget the 9800 GX2, that was a bad Frankenstein card when it was brand new, but i agree with the 9800 GTX or 9800 GTX+ and what he means is, the GTX 295 will cover two slots, it doesn't need two to plug into, but it will end up covering up two, so if your mobo has both of your pci-e slots next to each other, you're s.o.l.

i doubt it would not run i seen people with asus P6T deluxe with two 295GTX on picture but i know an EVGA X58 not the classified the older : with 3x 285GTX in a HAF 932 so ig uess it should run it sure if some psu don't have 6 & 8 pin it won't work

but take a look at Corsair HX1000 / Thermatlake Toughpower / Antec Earthpower or Antec Quatro (1000-1200PSU they mostly have it Also Pc&Cooling There Silencer 750W well i didn't need any adaptor on my 700W but it a 4870x2. not 295GTX i use a Thermatlake Toughpower neither my friend with is 750W : I donno if is psu will require an adapator But Adaptor aren't costy like 2-5$ and you can link all together

1000W only necessary if you get Two Dual gpu Set up or Three 285GTX / Three 4890 1GB But Even tough if you Crossfire / Sli one of those Card they may tell you need a 1000W but they just ask you that for you being overkill in wattage never in 95% load

Cause you can run two 4870x2 on a 750W PC&cooling Silencers I don't know for Corsair 750W in The Two Test where they did Put Two 4870x2 it was a PC&Cooling 750W Silencers From Two Different Website So Different Chronicer : i don't know if there a proof for a TX750W Of Corsair

and I can't tell if the Two Video card where Getting Bottleneck from running on that PSU ? Or not. I can tell it was possible nothing more :D

I don't see how that set up wouldn't max either of those.

That's not true. I can max crysis at 1680 x 1050 with 4 x aa. He can max EVERYTHING.
TBH though it is a waste of money, spending so much money. It would be better getting a phenom 940 with a 4890 build and then if you really want to maybe in a year and a half building a dx11 card build, that will pretty much own that current build and probably cost the same :P. Or maybe just swap the 295 with a 4890 / 4870 / 4770 and upgrade to a second generation dx11 card. That is what I would do anyway, as even if you get the 4890 it will play every game on max for the next 2 years and then get the dx11 card, which will give you more eyecandy :P

i agree, my computer can max out crysis, ( my specs are in my sig) i don't see how he couldn't, and i haven't tried gta 4 yet, but i probably could max it.

Drop the velociraptor and get something larger.

I have 240gb (3x 80gb) and it's simply not enough space for the games I own.

No offence but a 4890 is not maxing out Crysis at 1680x1050 with 4xaa and getting anywhere near decent framerates. I ran 2 GTX260 in sli and got ok framerates but those were with very early drivers so it might be doable now. I was wrong about Stalker he can max that. There is no way you can max GTA4 with less than 1gb of effective ram. I doubt that he'll max FSX with 30+ fps average. He won't be maxing Darkplaces. Of course there are games that he won't be maxing out especilly with some AA and texture mods. Most games yes but not EVERY game.

So your telling me that you don't see your framerate dip below 15fps midgame? A single 4890 is not maxing out Crysis with 4xaa at 1680x1050 with anywhere near playable framerates. Look at any benchmark including whe ones with a 1ghz core clock.

Hell... my Inspiron 1520 maxes out MOST games if you mean like all from the dx9 and dx10 generation combined
