Hey I'm new to this stuff, still researching.

CPU -AMD Phenom X2 550
GPU-XFX 9800 GT 512 mb DRR3
RAM - Corsair XMS3 4 GB PC3-12800 1600Mhz
MoBo - asus p7p55d

Should do fine, as long as you aren't obsessed playing every single game you encounter on max settings with over 9000 FPS. If this is a computer you have yet to build, I suggest you upgrade the video card to an ATi Radeon HD 4850. They cost about the same, and you will get somewhat better performance.

Definitely look at the 4850, and consider the 4870 if you are playing at 1080p. But yes, you can run all current games.

Radeon HD 4850 or if you are an nVidia snob, you can probably find a GTS 250 for the same price. It get's about the same performance as the 4850, but they tend to cost a tad more. But again, it is in the same price range.
