I am currently dual-booting between xp and windows 7, and i currently LOVE windows 7, chances are that its going to be my next OS. Anyways, i have a Sigmatel audio card (i think) and a intel 945gcl motherboard.

I have used the drivers that came with my mobo (inside came drivers for Sigmatel, so thats why i THINK i have a sigmatel audio card) but when i do that, i only get "cut off" sound. I had a similar problem with vista,i didnt get any audio at the back of my pc (without installing any drivers) only that i could plug my speakers on the front of the pcand everything was fine and dandy.

Are there any "7 compatible" drivers for Sigmatel? Is there anyway to check if i have another card, only that intel packed the disc with sigmatel drivers?

thanks in advance.

Are you currently using the Vista versions of the drivers? Because pretty much everything that works with Vista works with 7.

Vista drivers are the windows 7 compatible drivers. I noticed that my system likes the generic drivers, if it worked initially. Just make sure you get the 32bit or 64bit, whichever version of 7 you installed, and run the install program under xp sp2 compatibility.

Nope, it just means that Windows 7 will run the installation as far as possible like it would on XP SP2.
