I just bought windows 7 off the win741 or whatever website for .edu students. My question is, if i want to do a clean install and get rid of my current dual boot between Xp and Windows 7 Rc 1, what do i have to do?

IMO - ur easiest solution would be to copy to a disk.
Turn on ur PC and boot from Disk.
When you 'evetually will get to' the "Drive Options", select " Advanced Options"
From here you'll be able to delete specific partitions and old data - or if u'd like you can setup a new partition from here too.
After you have made all your selections, simply click "Next" - - it will automatically 'Quick Format' ur Hard Drive and install w/o issues.
And thats it.....
Note: At the beginning it will ask you if you'd like to install x64 or x86 version..? I assume ur RIG is 64bit - so click x64.
When it originally boots to disk, it may seem like it takes forever for it to do anything, just be patient - wait, it will begin to setup eventually.
happy install....
Alright thank you and final question. Do i need to burn the iso onto a dvd, or can i do a clean install of the exe file?RedxSniper
Not sure if you can run the exe straight from your hard drive, but I was able to run it from my external. You can try doing that.
