Clearly you hate MS dakan45

no But clearly you dont get anything despite being as clear as they can possibly be, so ill stop arguing wtih you. Lets continue praise ms till that company decides to throw us a bone since we dont buy into their gaming system and their tablets.

I get the things you meant.

I HATE, HATE GFWL. I also hate some things MS has done in the past.

But you need to to also see the other side of the coin and admit that Windows is the best OS system out there for GENERAL Use.

Yes, Linux based systems are the best for Web Servers.

Yes, Mac based OS are the best for Audio and Video Editing.

BUT, as for one general OS, that does Office work, Home Use, Gaming, Internet and 30,000 other things, Windows 7 is a darn fine product.

As for Win8, read my prior posts. Each OS from MS comes out for a reason, to tackle the current technology and bring their product up to date.

Windows 8 goes into the Cloud Sync and Touch Market. Do you have to use it? NO NO NO. But MS needs to bring it out to keep up.

It is becasue there is no other alternative and thats why we need competition, so we can "discover" a better os and MS will up their game a bit, just like all companies do when they face competion, with their monopoly, you wont see things getting better.

Do you listen to ME? There already is competition and alternatives. Do you think that Apple don't want to take the market away from MS? Do you think that Google don't either? Of course they do but it's easier said that done. There is ALREADY competition but Microsoft just does it better for General Use. And why do you keep saying a better OS. I asked before and you didn't answer, what does Windows do so wrong with it's latest version that you want it to die? Apart from a few versions (ME, Vista), each version of Windows has been better than the last, so your argument that it's getting worse and worse is also invalid.

PC GAMING, PC GAMING PC GAMING PC GAMING Apple, mac? prffffft nope. MS has a monopoly, so much of it that they dare treat pc gamers like crap to sell more xboxs. You are not listening to me. :(

^^ Why do they treat us like crap?

GFWL? Yep, that's a reason, but they said they are going to remove it from Win8 cause of the complaints (or integrate it differently).

Saying that, GFWL is FREE on PC rather than the paid version on XBOX.

Where else do they treat us like crap? Cause they want to push their XBOX forward? Well duh. Of course they want their own gaming system to succeed.

Saying that, are you saying WinXP had better support for modern gaming than Windows 7 for example?

from what i heard win8 will have intergration with windows live. Do you seriously believe that they could charge us to play mp? I really liked the parts that cancelled the pc version of alan wake to boost x360 sales and the game flopped and it was finnaly released on pc.

Put Windows 8 Preview on a second PC that's non-mission critical. The whole idea of a Preview or beta is to find out what works and what do not.

Yeah, I really was angry that they cancelled Alan Wake like that. Thankfully we finally got it and it was worth every penny (ur wrong about the game flopping on XBOX though). I don't know how Live will integrate with Win8, but they said it was a newer version.... And no, I don't believe they would charge us to play MP, but they do on XBOX so again we get the better part of the deal.

[QUOTE="FelipeInside"] That's where people get it wrong. MS isn't telling anyone anything. If ur happy with 7 then no one if forcing anyone to upgrade.FelipeInside

And then a few years later support drops off and we're forced to conform to this stupid touchscreen crap. As someone who works in IT, this is'nt quite a good move. Change is good, forced rapid change for dumb reasons is not.

I'm gonna bet though that if an 'old style' GUI isn't offered as an alternative, it will backfire in their faces. Just like Vista fell to the side and Win7 is becomming the norm, the new WinXP. I live by the motto "Every other Windows release is trash." Buy XP, skip Vista, buy 7, skip 8, etc.

Probably MANY years later. Most businesses are still using XP which is what? 15 years old? And why the word "stupid"? Cause u don't like it doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Your average business isn't going to give a rats ass about a touchscreen for their offices, neither will most other places, and as a gamer I don't really care either. MS rolled out a new tablet, it's obvious they want to do what apple is trying and making the desktop into a bigger tablet. I have used touchscreen laptops before and even desktops at my IT department. None of them offered any advantage over the Win7 I use now, and it was more of a pain in the ass/novelty than anything else. Forcing a touchscreen environment and not offering both that and the normal is indeed "stupid." Businesses aren't gonna buy it, gamers won't buy it....who's left...hipsters? They already got a macbook or ipad :P

only if you go into regedit and do this

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer

change value of RPEnabled from "1" to "0"

the problem with that is, you lose access to your sleep/shutdown/reboot buttons unless you ctrl+alt+del

CORRECTED: You don't get the classic start button but all the same features with Live Tiles.

Funny how some people think, sure I see how some wouldn't like the completely new way Windows works, but to say things like "oh yeah, it might be more stable, faster, more secure, use a lot less of your hardware (one would argue that a gaming PC has more than enough power for just that, but simple facts, less RAM usage and HDD = better performance in games and more memory to allocate for said games), but it sucks man, this is no gaming OS, they changed the way it fundamentally functions/organizes your "everything" so it's absolutely terrible for games". Sense, it makes none, just like the little rants here and there about this "preview".

yeah because we know every single operative system is an improvement, i mean i don't see why people didn't migratedfrom windows xp to vista!!

the performance in both system is basically the same, the difference is some functions. So keep the nonsense to yourself.

The performance is the same, really, you make such statements when you're completely out of all this discussion?

Vista was a huge step from XP and it, in the end, performed in a similar way (sluggish and unstable, but way more secure), with extremely high hardware usage, 7 crushed everything Vista did, rock solid in every single way and it cut the hardware usage in half if not more, what ignorants like yourself purposely fail to realize (or they can't comprehend it, or they're just too stupid to actually get informed before making idiotic statements) is that it happened once again, 8 cuts everything 7 uses in half and it's also faster for general OS use.

I'd be grateful if next time you wouldn't post something as stupid as your last post, or at least ignore my post and don't quote again, there's so much ignorance and stupidity I can take in a day.

Unfourtantely, no. The difference in performance between 7 and Vista is pretty big. Now I assume maybe you were going off gaming, but I am talking about general use. The way Vista continously reads from the HDD and uses up more RAM just for normal work fucntions is really bad. A colleague of mine in the IT Industry had his company test Vista workstations against Win7 workstations (back when 7 first came out). They decided 110% to upgrade to 7 cause of the difference.

Depends on what market you are talking about. ENTERPRISE? of course no company is going to upgrade to Win8. They are just starting to upgrade to Windows 7. GAMING? Most people won't upgrade, some will. Some gamers with a brand new build will just go 8 as well. HOME AND MOBILE? Now this is where it's going to shine. Specially when it integrates everything together (Tablet, Phone, XBOX, Desktop, TouchScreens).

Ahh righto. Sorry for the confusion.

Well, we have to wait and see between 7 and 8. I know for a fact 8 Beta already starts up faster than 7. And the instant restore function in 8 is pretty cool (if it works like they say it does).

As for normal everyday performance, have to wait and see.

I'm running windows 8 and gaming and I have no problems at all. It's very fast and no problems running my games. Just make sure to update your video card drivers. Windows 8 is actually really great. Once past the learning curve its so easy to navigate anywhere and can actually be faster than windows 7

yes a scrub like you knows more than most tech people, reviewers and users in general. of course, such ignorance can only come from you. severyone knows vista > xp i wonder why it failed so badly ? xD

8 is not faster than 7, a few ms at best, and maybe the faster start, but is not different in performance or in games, i do agree with felipeinside, it is an operative system to keep up with the latest technologies But is a waste of time arguing with ignorants like you.

I've installed 8 on my laptop. It's far from a gaming machine but it handled plants vs zombies and CS:S like a champ. In desktop mode it seems to run just as well as Windows 7.
