im planning on buying a comp thats gonna have windows vista 64 bit. how much ram should i get if i also wanna play games

What kind of video card is it coming with? 3-4GB of RAM will be just fine, gaming relies more on the video card though.

I'd say go for 4GB.

Fast ddr2 ram is so cheap nowadays and 4 gigs really does help with current games imo.

Hi Ya pretty much everyone who uses a Windows 64 bit

operating system uses 4 gigs of ram. That seems to be the sweet spot.

4GB is the sweet spot right now. Since I already have 2GB though, I'm buying a set of 2x2GB since it's pretty cheap. I'm gonna install Windows 7 RC also.
