I have XP Pro 64 bit right now, it runs well but its only the free evaluation version which i will have to re install anyway if i chose to buy it, but I got my hands on Vista 64 bit and i hated Vista 32 bit.. i was wondering if there are any significant performance gains by switching to Vista 64 bit or should i just buy XP Pro instead? What are your thoughts?
ok, so far everything is working fine, and it actually boots up alot faster than 32bit xp.. but i have not tried installing itunes or divx yet... is it going to work and if a game is not made for 64 bit it will still run right?

I haven't hit a 32bit program that doesn't work (and if it does have issue, doesn't have a 64bit version out).
Although I am sure that you may hit a program or two that won't work, but anything that is fairly popular (Such as iTunes) should work.
The problem is XP 64 has very scarce driver support, so make sure all your stuff is supported on x64 xp.Baselerd
Hey I have a question. If you have drivers for your computer that are all 64bit, then would the pc run faster then 32 bit? I am ofcourse talking about XP.
Maybe you are just lucky ;-). My printer, wireless networking card, PCI-serial port, and mp3 (at the time) all were unsupported in xp 64. They are in xp x86, vista x86 and vista x64.
