Windows 7 is faster, less of a resource hog, and the features are less annoying and in your face.
Far better than Vista, and worthy of an upgrade.
Don't listen to this guy. XP is outdated, ugly and isn't as efficient as Vista and Windows 7. Did you install Vista 3 years ago or something?dont waste your money, effort, computer resources and time. i installed vista for only 2 days and went back to XP.wether its a good, agile OS or not is not to debate.i just found it full of unnecessery features and resources entensive.7 is another vista I THINK.XP is a great OS

[QUOTE="redoverking"]thanks but how abouth the driver? i only have XP and vista driversOntainmostly good but still some missing. just stay with xp till windows 7 is officially released Dont listen to this guy here. XP and Vista drivers both work perfectly with 7. I've got a scanner and a camera that vista wouldn't recognize (turns out drivers weren't compatible with vista) and 7 found them, they work perfectly =P
Well, I don't think using an OS for a whopping TWO DAYS counts as an honest, objective opinion.well,i just love XP and didnt like Vista, even after using it.i was excited about it,but it failed me

Windows 7. As quick as XP and reliable. Running RC2 here for some time, still some major bugs but nothing that affects gaming. Media Player each time you open it does searching, doesn't save previous files in cache. Games Explorer has no way of editing so you can't add command lines to the games there. This WILL NOT be corrected and fixed at all even on official RTM release. MS feel if you can't edit these things then things can't go wrong.

Windows 7 is better (I installed the beta a few days ago) it uses around 1.2 gb of RAM (I run lots of applications and I have a lot other peripherals) compared to 2.2 gb RAM Vista and it's a little faster and I like that new preview feature, drivers work perfectly, my only complaint is the sleep feature, it just doesn't work, it shuts down and after 20 seconds it's back to the desktop >_>.
Normally I too would recommend waiting for a service pack to come out first before upgrading, but Windows 7 gets it right the first time (A first for Microsoft, I know).Stick with XP until Windows7 SP2 comes out

On the device manager look for your network card device, right click it, properties and uncheck one of the options that says "allow this device to resume the computer" or something like that.Windows 7 is better (I installed the beta a few days ago) it uses around 1.2 gb of RAM (I run lots of applications and I have a lot other peripherals) compared to 2.2 gb RAM Vista and it's a little faster and I like that new preview feature, drivers work perfectly, my only complaint is the sleep feature, it just doesn't work, it shuts down and after 20 seconds it's back to the desktop >_>.

Thanks, o_0 I forgot to do that, I haven't even messed around with it since I installed it. I'll have to turn UAC off too while I'm at it.Windows 7 is better (I installed the beta a few days ago) it uses around 1.2 gb of RAM (I run lots of applications and I have a lot other peripherals) compared to 2.2 gb RAM Vista and it's a little faster and I like that new preview feature, drivers work perfectly, my only complaint is the sleep feature, it just doesn't work, it shuts down and after 20 seconds it's back to the desktop >_>.

The only stumbling block for me is the moviemaker. I record a lot of stuff and edit using moviemaker but it's not bundled with Windows 7 and the version you can download is 2.6 which is the XP version not the Vista version and is missing some features. That's my only concern. coulyThere is Windows Live Movie Maker for Vista and Windows 7. It doesn't work with Xp though.

You guys still won't admit that Windows XP is the best OS that Microsoft will ever release.
I recommend Windows XP. It is compatible with everything.

Look up more informaiton on it but if I recall if you buy vista now you will get windows 7 free with it. PS I have had no issues with Vista 64... I did get it after SP1 was out, so most issues were fixed. Also you don't need a super rig to run vista vs xp, most of the time it only needs 1 gig more ram. (for games) You also need a video card of some type if you want to use aero glass. (but you are gaming on your pc lol so I would think you have one)
i know but i can't play several games on very high because it need DX10You guys still won't admit that Windows XP is the best OS that Microsoft will ever release.

Nope, that OS is trash, even after 3 SPs. No other Windows was as unstable as this one, it also ran slower with every patch and it was extremely vulnerable to viruses, let it go, it is/was, trash, you're not convincing anyone except XP fans, guys that have no idea how Vista/7 is because they heard from guys like you that XP is better and those sucks, guys that had some problems adjusting to the new OSs or guys that are just too rednecks for Vista/7.You guys still won't admit that Windows XP is the best OS that Microsoft will ever release.
