I only have 6gb installed right now but I got this information from a website on Vista here it is, I hope this helps
Windows Vista Edition 32-bit (x86)--------Windows 64-bit(x64)
Windows Vista Ultimate 4 GB ------------------128 GB
Windows Vista Enterprise 4 GB-----------------128 GB
Windows Vista Business 4 GB -------------------128 GB
Windows Vista Home Premium 4 GB------------16 GB
Windows Vista Home Basic 4 GB ------------------8 GB
Windows Vista Starter ---1 GB ----------------------N/A
I also noticed that some of my old programs are not 64-bit supported so make sure you can run some programs and you might have to get the drivers for somethings from there websites
I run Vista Home Premium 32-bit on my personal laptop, and Vista Ultimate 64-bit on my brand new gaming PC I built. If you purchase a (non OEM) license for either home premium or ultimate it will work for both 32-bit and 64-bit. If you have an OEM license you may want to save your money up for Windows 7, since it might run fine for right now. But definitely look at making the switch to 64-bit.
