i just set up my new pc and i got a new router and network adapter for my old pc. both are dlink and are capable of wireless n but one thing that is driving me crazy is that i think its still transmitting wireless g even though i set it to wireless n ONLY. is there a way i can check to see what it is transmitting? and if its still transmitting wireless g how do i switch it to wireless n.

It could be you internet service, if your ISP is only giving you g speed that might be the problem

What makes you say it is still transmitting in g mode? Log into your router and make sure it is set to n only. Do the same for the adpater. Install any software that came with the router and adapter. If all these boxes are checked then it should only transmit in n mode.

thats the thing i think it might be the software that it came with that is **** things up because when i connect to the network with my laptop it says wireless n but when i use my pc which has the dlink software (network magic) it says wireless g... and i cant seem to get rid of network magic.
