Well I actually play on normal, but still it should get hard at least in some points, right? I'm on act II (at the end of it I think) and everything is just too easy, even the big monsters and the bosses (just finished the draug). Will it get harder at some point (like at the beginning of the game)? or should I just switch to hard? Thanks.

The first fight with letho is kinda hard, and the second to last fight might be hard. The rest of the game for me was very easy. SO, i recommend you switch to hard or...even play the hardcore modes or something

No one else can answer this question for you. There are apparently MULTIPLE higher difficulty settings...if it's too easy then choose one of those.

I'm only on act 2 but from what I experienced it's like everyone says, it's hard at first then it gets easier, not the case with Dark Mode, even masochists that show off with their impressive deaths per boss on the official forums were a little discouraged and they say the difficulty throughout the game is constant..

Man, I found the first fight with Letho incredibly hard.

Otherwise it seemed about okay to me on normal difficulty

You have easy, normal, hard, dark mode and insane (dark mode has some dark sets and weapons, not sure if they're on the insane mode, but insane should be dark mode with permanent death).

Well I actually play on normal....

There's your problem right there. There's a reason the game has multiple difficulty levels.

I must've got lucky because I defeated him right away but that (*SPOILER*) cutscene through me off where you beat him but then he kinda beats you and runs away. I thought I did something wrong so I re-did. It took me a number of tries after that to re-accomplish it. I loved most every minute of it though!

And to the OP, right around where you were finding it easy I did go ahead and bump it up to hard. There is also Insane above that. Rather than pondering out loud get to it already! Witcher 2 is NOT too easy; you just need to up the difficulty.

I believe Normal is for slightly more casual gamers than would spend time posting at Gamespot. That's a generalization of course but I don't see myself as the ultimate min-maxer uberpawner guy at all. Yet, I do routinely feel as I progress through games that if I am playing on Normal then I'm NOT getting my moneysworth.

However, I did start Crysis 2 on Normal, upped it to hard but now on my second playthrough, I'm just going Normal the whole time. Clobbering armored aliens with barefists, handgun and the occassional Scar rifle for when the sh*t gets thick is a great way to get a superhero vibe out of one of the few FPS's with metapowers. (I also like Lilith in Borderlands for the same reason.)

When I first saw this title though, I thought. "Hmm. Yes. The Witcher 2 is too easy. Also, the sun is too cold and the Pope isn't very Catholic." ;-D

I'm finding it just right (even a bit hard in places) on normal difficulty. I tried Dark Souls recently and after that arse raping I'm glad TW2 isn't so hard it's frustrating.

I'm not even picking that up until I get through my busy season and happily moved out of the midwest. (Detroit sucks.) I'm not the biggest fantasy-theme fan in the world (though I make an exception for Witcher 2) but from what I know of Dark Souls, I will be obsessed with it. I can't be sitting at work at 3pm thinking nonstop about Dark Souls.

Eventually I'll be able to afford the time and luxury of it though. Can't wait!

Too easy? I had a hard time beating it on normal. I'm beginning to think that I just sucked at it. :P

I'm stuck with those annoying knights in the prologue when foltest and the others try chopping down the wooden gate so they can get into the castle.

Personally, my first time through, I had a mediocre time with the difficulty on normal. As many have said, it was hard in the beginning and progressively got easier. This is my second playthrough right now, and I am trying out Dark mode. Im about halfway through Act 2 and for me it is indeed pretty easy even with this difficulty.

Don't want to try insane with perma-death..I mean...I have died twice...but generally its a matter of turn on Quen then charge in. I am doing the magical tree this go-round and...yea, it particularly is not that hard this time since I got a great sense of the playstyle the first time through.

Meh. I thought Dark Souls was for the PS3 and the PC. Turns out scratch PC and put in xbox. Looks like that's a hundred plus hours of my life that I will be doing something else. P*ssed.

The game seems pretty hard in the beginning but once you learn how to fight properly,it gets very easy.

The fight with letho isn't hard at all if you drink a swallow potion and use quen.

The first fight with Letho owned me pretty hard but I was still new to the game, beyond that it was easy. I'm replaying it on Dark mode now and its a much better challenge. Pretty much instant kill from behind.

the game is only hard at the beginning when you dont know how to play and when your character is crap...after that it gets extremely easy. ironically, I found the game to be 1000000 times easier on hard...but that was because I was already an expert at the game...I remember in my first playthrough it took me 2 hours and a half to win the first letho fight. in the 2nd playthrough on hard it took me 2 minutes and I did not died once. but at least its harder than the 1st one, which was complete cake with random combat

they hard because you are new to the game...you have to learn how and when to parry, roll, and which signs to use, every sign is useful...except axii imo

you pretty much just revealed us that your game is pirated  the game is at 2.0 version by now (or was last time I checked it) which added new difficulties and pretty much changed a bunch of gameplay aspects...and last time I checked this game had auto update...so it seems to me as if you dont own a legit copy
