Guild wars can be played with either of the 3 campaigns that are out at the moment. THere are perks to getting each one different characters, different weapons, different skills you can acquire Some of the best skills are in the first campaign GUild wars Prophecies but i didn't like it that much lol ... Nightfall is the newest and it's pretty good, better than factions and a lot of people play it as far as engrossing I personally have logged over 600 hours in a bit over 4 months ....... if that tells you anything

It's a completely different game since guild wars isn't actually an MMO .... I've never played WOW so I can't actually say it's better or worse I can just say it's fun, and I also think it depends on how much time u have to commit to the game ... with WoW from what i've heard is you almost need to spend 6 hours straight playing once you at higher levels to get anywhere .. In Guild wars the longest missions only take 30 minutes and then you can stop and you can leave for a few days, weeks, months and pick right up where you left off

6 hours might be alittle exgeration, what gets me though is its for the most minscule thing that every one else has..

I have played far into the end game of WoW.. I honestly hate it atm just due tot eh shallowness of the end game..  It requires the largest amount of itme for teh smallest improvement possible.. The game to me and many people found it to be more of a chore.. Things such as PVP fun earlier on turn into a grind at the end where you just do it to get honor do to so many people owning you who spend tons of time for items...

WoW IMO has one of the worse communties for a higher par multiplayer game..  Think Diablo 2+ Warcraft 3+ 12 year olds, and that basically sums it up...  WoW to me was great till the end game, but at that end it was just too shallow...

Guild Wars is a very cool game with many different classes depending on the expansions you take..  Items in pvp hardly have any bearing on pvp its all about strategy and builds, there is no owns all builds..  The game is alot like chess in a way that each build class has their own roles that can be used to take out some one else...  This imo is the games strength and flaw all into one.. On a pve perspective there isn't much you can go beyond for best items, infact you can get some of the best items in the game for cheap.. Really no anticipation or surprise when an item drops as much as other games.. You do not feel like you can strengthen your character... The only other gripe I have about it is no auction house making selling or buying items a nightmare at times...

The skill sets in the game is very very VERY cool giving you hundreds of skills that can be mix and matched to make a completely unique build..  Honestly imo if I were to get Guild Wars agian, I would get Night Fall..  Over all the story is way better imo over Prophecies..  The first alot of times jumped around to things I didn't care about such as putting off what you think are the main bad guys in the game (charr) and putting them off to never see them again.. Missions in the game are spectacular in the sense you will alot of times will want to do it over agian...

The community is alright, you will come across some real jerks it being free and all.. But you can play the game solo for quite awhile..

In the end if your a pvp player, like story driven events, as well as instance of your own.. GW is for you..  People who say that woW has a story line thats better then GW, I just wonder WHERE?  You are given quests such as giving the lunch the husband left behind from his wife..   Onyxia was the closest thing to a secure set of events and it was simple to not even need to read the text (thats not really needed to be read I might add)..

It's $15...not $50...not $500...$15 isn't all that much a month. People spend that much on pure junk each month at least...so relax or get a better paying job.

15 a month over a year is 180 bux .... that's a lot to spend on a game IMO, when he could spend 40 for GW and get as much enjoyment out of it

WoW and Guild Wars are entirely different games, and cannot be compared. WoW is a true MMORPG, Guild Wars is a strategy based game.

well yeah i guess but i am not really fussy with games all they have to be is "fun" i dont for things like if i pay $20 a month i'll get lalalalal id rather stick to guildwars cause from its description you get heaps and the community is suffecient and ofcoarse youre gonna come across pricks who wanna ruin the experience but thats in all games so is there any catch about guildwars i should kno about???

$180 isn't that much...I've spent more on other basics like food, clothes, etc. Yearly I spend at least 8 X that on DVD's.

Plus with GW you gotta factor in the expansions...I play that game too and while I really enjoy it I wouldn't use the fact of it being "free" as the prime modivation.

WoW is much better than Guild Wars....trust me on this...it comes dowen to though are you willing to spend the money for it?DRUNK_CANADIAN

it doesn't just come down to wether you spend the money or not, it's also wether your willing to spend the time that it takes to be good at this game.  once you hit lvl 60 (took me over a year to get my first 60) you have to compete with people that play this game 5+ hours a day and have good gear.  merely getting to lvl 60 means little in this game.  you HAVE to have good gear as well.  i don't care what anyone says, that's what this game boils down to, is how good your gear is.  and you better be willing to spend 5+ hours a day to get this good gear or you'll just face embarrasing loss after embarrasing loss.  like for example along comes a mage in tier 2 and you have all blues and greens on this is how it go's.  sheep, pyroblast, fireball, fireblast, death.  that takes all of about 15 seconds to execute.  and if you live through it then you get hit with frost nova, and fireball again.  so if you want a game that you can just pick up and play from time to time, then trust me WoW is not for you.

I play WoW; I have that, GW, and GW Factions.

WoW is most definitely better. A LOT better. But, as with all games, there is that week or so while playing it that you've gotten sick of it. During that week, I play GW. Guild Wars isn't as good as wow, but it's still one of the best 15 games I've ever played.

And WoW is worth the price; just get both, since they're good for when you're in different moods.

No need to spend hours for levelling in Gw.Best pvp system ever made where you can use ur environment also. You need skill balancing and must have intelligence.
