Second Patch has just come out now, it has fixed many issues including performance issues, memory leaks and such, so far i have noticed a big boost.

A must get for anyone playing.

Info Changes

 

World in Conflict Beta Client Patch
Patch #002 - 2007/06/05

This patch addresses several of the bugs and balance issues that have been reported to us through our beta forums and closedbeta@massive.se

IMPORTANT INFO - The bug that resulted in World in Conflict installing with the wrong default graphical settings has been resolved.
Please note that this patch will reset your graphical settings automatically.
You will need to manually return the World in Conflict to your preferred graphical settings
(including "rotating minimap", "show all health bars" and "show help tips").

Bug fixes:
- Fixed possible issue with Securom that might solve the start-up problems some users are experiencing
- Tweaked memory usage to optimize performance and lower loading times on some systems
- Fixed two map load crashes
- Fixed some minor game play crashes
- Matches now do not start until a minimum number of players (default 3) have joined each team
- Laptop power and WiFi icons moved and resized
- The bug that resulted in World in Conflict installing with the wrong graphical settings has been resolved

Balance changes:
- Auto Balancing do not start switching players until everyone has finished loading the game
- Domination bar now moves slower to prevent initial team unbalance from resolving match too quickly
- Delay before game starts increased from 20 to 35 seconds to prevent initial team unbalance from resolving match too quickly
- Medium AA received substantial buffs
- Medium Heli has been slightly nerfed
- USSR medium tank has received a HE shell special ability
- Helicopter flares effectiveness have been nerfed
- Score received from fortifying Command Points increased, score received from capturing decreased

since I download the second patch, the game has stopped crashing for me :)

 

I also just had the experience of seeing 5 nukes being launched in a single game:)

Theres a 3ed patch now, but its removed the smoke from the arti so i have no idea were they are now :(

Hopefully it will come close or surpass Starcraft's popularity.

Its different in a good way (no base building, limited resource points)
Its pretty
Its extremely well optimized
Its balanced yet each army is different
and its got an amazing wow factor...nukes, daisy cutters, and carpet bombing anyone?

I dont know..based on this MP beta..its just not fun at all for me. Extremly repetative gameplay.

I agree, specifically concerning helicopters vs antiair vehicles...helicopters are way too powerful imo.

Cant wait for the singleplayer portion...I hope they use FMVs a la C&C st yle I think that would make it very believable and pretty sweet.

how many days have you played it. It is fun at first, and then you start noticing that the game just has issues and is extremely frustrating to play. People are exploiting mechanics out the wazoo already.

like i said, fun at first, and then becomes extremely frustrating after you start realizing some glaring flaws.

like i said, fun at first, and then becomes extremely frustrating after you start realizing some glaring flaws.

Like what? The helo exploit has already been nerfed since the last patch. the only exploit left that I can see is their infantr, who for some reason can't die when heavies fire shells at them. It seems like they're basically invulnerable to them unless they get run over.
