We all want to get the best game there is, but sometimes we just don't read the review of the game (or any other reason), and we buy a really bad game. So whats your worst game?

Mains ,,Eragon", I read the book, I loved it, but I didn't knowed that games about movies are usually very bad.

For me, the worst game that I've ever bought is Splinter Cell Double Agent (PC), what a piece of crap. I'm a big fan of the series and I liked the story in DA, but the fact that I could barely play the game, due to bugs, crashes, low fps, really annoyed me. That was my last Ubisoft game that I bought.

Most Disappointing

Bioshock - I paid full price for this. I also gave into the hype. If I had bought this game for $20 (or even lower) then I probably wouldn't be as disappointed. Great atmosphere and originality for a FPS game can't overshadow the piss-easy difficulty, shallow shooting mechanics, and lack of any replay value.

Worst: I've played many games and some of them have been horrendously bad... I think the worst though is a game my sister bought called Xena something or other for N64, crappy fighting game based on the Xena TV show (my sister loved the show hence why she bought the game)

Most disappointing: Splinter Cell, I really looked forward to that game but honestly I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as other people make it out to be

Anyone who knows me knows that I am a jaded and cynical bastard, and the one time I decided to believe the bull**** the developers were selling was with BioShock. I shouldn't have, but I dared to dream. I wanted to believe so much that it would be a worthy successor to System Shock 2 that I did believe.

Never have I been hurt so much as with BioShock. But never again. Not now. I'm dead inside.

While BioShock is the most disappointing game I've ever played, it's not the worst. That award goes to SunAge.

I never read reviews, but I rarely make mistakes buying games. Mistakes do happen, but not so often.

Edit: The board ate my bloody message. In short I just didn't like how it was hyped to be so epic and I bought it at full price which I don't usually do to just get a subpar game.

Yup, I played through it and wasn't impressed. I have never played SS2 (can't find it at the price I want) but I don't know why the game was considered so great. The only thing it had going for it was an interesting way of telling the story (doom 3 did it better), art direction (could care less about this as long as its not hello kitty), graphics (don't care about these unless the game is ff7, for some reason I cannot stand looking at it) while the rest is just superficial and I have seen done better in a lot of other games.

Max Payne 2 was a letdown, it was fun at the beginning but it went old.

Nations is the worst game I have ever played, I thought it was good (this was in 1999) because I love flying games, but it sucked...

I always read reviews now. I have bought too many games in the days of SNES and PSX, just for the hell of buying a game, that were complete arse.

Worst game that I can remember, Ryan Giggs Soccer, or whatever eve the hell it was called on SNES. 50 bloody quid, and it was the most unplayable pile of horse manure excuse for a football game I have ever played.

Most disappointing has to be Empire Earth 3. Although it is rubbish and not just disappointing, I had high hopes for it. I really liked EE2, and EE3 looked real good, and then I played it...........

Most disappointing would have to be Halo 3 for me. I found Halo 1 fun, Halo 2 had good console multiplayer, but I found Halo 3 brought nothing fun to the table (Probably because it was over-hyped). I don't know what I didn't like about the game, but I just couldn't play it much without getting totaly bored.

Note: For the record, halo is only good on xbox 1 since it's a very stable shooter. For PC and 360 there are too many better games out there.

The two games that have disappointed me the most were:

FEAR: ZOMG what was with the hype :? i started playing and 20 mins in the game and already got bored T_T. It was painfully repetitive and the horror scenes werent scary at least not for me.

DMC2: Just an awful game that disappointed even the most loving fan of DMC -_-.

TanKLoveR

Did you play the whole game, or quit after those 20 minutes?

Also, I'm interested to hear how you justify calling F.E.A.R repetitive when you've scored Diablo, Diablo 2 and World of WarCraft over 9.0. Clearly repetitiveness isn't something you have a problem with.

I mean, hell, the FPS genre is inherently repetitive (barring a few notable exceptions) - the point of F.E.A.R is its excellent and insanely over the top firefights, which still haven't been bested even three years later. You don't even see that in the first twenty minutes, so I sincerely hope you didn't throw it back on the pile.

I've had quiet a bit of disappointements, but for PC, the Resident Evil port is a recent one tha comes to mind. Also, Age of Empires III wasn't great, whereas I really liked AoE II.

As for worst, I would have to say Streets of SimCity. It's a game where one can drive around the city they built on Simcity. The concept was good and I didn't hesistate to spend the $10 to buy the game considering Simcity was awesome, and I wanted to drive through cities that I built. However, the game was poorly implemented with bad graphics, terrible control scheme, and a whole other negatives that I can't remember.

FYi, I read reviews of games to make sure that I'm not wasting money on a really crappy game. I tend to read professional and user review to get a wide range of opinions. Very rarely do I buy games on impulse.

Oblivion. I bought it before the reviews came out (got it a day before it was officially released). But the reviews said it was good anyways, so that didn't help. I honestly expected the game to get ~7.0-8.0.

i almost always read reviews or try demos, unless i already know it's good, like when valve or bioware release a game.

the worst game i've ever bought was ass creed. horrible, horrible game. i read reviews for the game, and i thought that no matter what, i'd still like the game, but it turned out to be total ass.

the most disappointing game i've ever bought was gears of war. i had high hopes for that game, cuz i love fps with good cover systems, but the gunplay was pretty mediocre.

I read lots of reviews for Far Cry and i bought the game before Crysis came out just to see what it was like and i honestly think it is the worst game i have ever played...every thing about it is bad especially the gameplay...its just horrible in every possible way. Crysis is one of my favorites though.

Worst game: GTA: San Andreas. Not only is it the most over-hyped and overrated game in history, it is also seriously flawed.

A incoherent and disjointed story that doesn't even have a proper ending.

Dated visuals and sloopy vehicle controls.

Some of the worst missions I have played in any game - Some of them - like the flying missions - are so bad you think that Rockstar is just trying to torment the players by forcing them to go through these.

Way too much backtracking and driving around.

Needed a much better save system.

Oblivion is one of the more disappointing games as well - lacking polish it feels incomplete and I still don't understand the number of accolades it has won.

Dear god... what a disappointment. Serves me right though, falling for all that developer hype. I should have just played System Shock 2 instead (played it about a year before only half way through, got freaked out and haven't gone back since, want to finish it, need to finish it but I don't know if I can).

I can't think of a flat-out worst game, since I usually have fun laughing at terrible games I find in bargain bins, and I've got this affinity for bad pirate sims (they're usually unplayable, but I can't resist buying them :p).

As for a most disappointing game, Oblivion would probably top that list. Oh, that and Prince of Pesia: The Two Thrones.

It was supposed to be the epic conclusion to the (new) trilogy, but all it did was rehash the plot of the first game.
The gameplay relied a bit too much on trial and error - particularly in the stealth and chariot sections, and there seemed to be less moves and powers available to you than in the previous game...although that might have been due to the censorship on the Australian DVD version that I own.

I mean, it's not a bad game, but I enjoyed the previous two games a whole lot more than it.
