no 7850 is crap check your motherboard website and see if they allowed am3 cpus on your MB. Or check the forums on your motherboard if it supports phenom 2s someone would have posted about it. You might just need a bios upgrade unless you have low brand MB. 550 or even the 250 would be a bigger improvement than a 7850.

If it can support AM3 cpu's pick up an Athlon ii x2 or phenom 2 much better then a 7850. Depending on the X2 5200 your coming from the 7850 isnt a big upgrade, the older 5200 sure its a ok upgrade, but if its the newer 2.7 ghz 5200 then no its not worth the upgrade.
