Would you be interested in Red Dead Redemption if it is announced for PC?

I would be very interested provided it was well optimised. I liked what I saw in a "Quick Look" on a site that I cannot mention here. Hopefully the game will not be a huge, or giant, bomb!

I'd be stoked if it was announced for PC, cool looking Rockstar game that I'd like to experience. Reminds me of Alan Wake too, another console game I hope gets a release on the PC, I remember when it was originally planned to come out on PC as well, and there were a bunch of tech demos for it showcasing the games physics and the application of quad core processors, back when quad core processors were a big deal haha.

Yes, I'd probably buy it very shortly after it came out. Rockstar have done very well with all their previous games but Red Dead Redemption really looked like something. I was quite sad when it was never released for PC.

Not really my cup of tea, I generally don't have much interest in Western themed games so RDR would at best be a $5 steam sale purchase. I also wouldn't trust Rockstars ability to get anything to run decently on a PC either. They did a hell of a lot of damage to their rep on the PC with GTA 4 (not that their rep was all that high in the first place on the PC). So if there was any kind of port of RDR to the PC it would be a cheap knock off 5 minute job like GTA 4 was.

I already have it for the PlayStation 3, but if it was a good port then I'd consider getting it again for the PC. Definitely the best game I've played this year.

Played it on ps3. It was good but i was not very impressed with the gameplay. However it would look and feel wonderfull on pc, providing rockstar ports it properly this time around.

No... I have it on Xbox and its pants (In my opinion). It's like they thought "hmm we need a new game, but we've done GTA to death, and we can't think of any new ideas, so let's take this old game [revolver] which apparently no one played? and make a new GTA with cowboys and indians!" Now I LOVED revolver, but redemption just sucks. It has none of the style that revolver had, and its set in a desolate arid landscape with chuff all to do! Boring if you ask me! HOWEVER, it would be interesting to see some mods on pc :P

i wouldnt be anywhere near as harsh about the game as that but i do think it's definitely overrated.

once the novelty of gta in the wild west wore off (and lets not forget the unbelievably slow start and how long the game actually took to get going) it did become apparent that theyd exhausted all their mission type ideas by around half way in to the game.

its good but not great. however it is very, very good looking game and probably the prettiest on the 360 imo

I'd be delighted. It's one of a number of console games I'd love to see on the PC. RDR has often been compared to GTAIV. But, I have no interest in games with a gangbanger theme. So, RDR would be it for me. RDR does have criminal elements in it. But, it's a western. I'm a sucker for westerns.

I would take a wait and see approach, I susally dont like wstern themes, but the game overall looked prtty good (comming from a gta hater). In my time I have only bought 2 western games before, and both were far better then I expected them to be.

So:Gameworld wise: NoGameplay wise: likely

I never had any issues with the GTA IV port (it was way better than the console versions), so I'd love to see RDR on PC.

I'd buy it immediately upon release. The only reason I haven't bought it for my 360 is because I think a PC release (ie. cheap port) is inevitable. Not porting it would be like throwning away money. That, and I'd love to see what mods would do for the game.

No. I played it on my 360, and it's terribly boring. GTA:IV at least kept the pace up. The beginning of RD:R was a veritable snooze-fest for me. All power to those who like it, but meh... I'm not going to buy it if it comes to PC. Much better games out there.

The thing is though... and it pains me to say this since the setting was incredibly well done... that's exactly what it is, more or less.

As someone that still loved the GTA games back when they were top-down, I didn't really care for the later installments. I did buy GTA4 though, and it's a good game. Got a bit bored of it, but Rockstar puts a lot of effort in to their games. So, yes, I would more than likely buy RDR if it comes to PC.

i must agree with you. i was so hyped about it, and when it was released i got to play it at a friend with PS3, and it just felt too much like another GTA. sure, it had some nice western touches to it, but i still got bored pretty quickly.

Probably not, with the PC community's luck, wouldn't be surprised if it was a crappy port, plus I'm not into the whole "wild west" style. Having said that, if it was well opitmized for PC and I could tolerate the western/cowboy style, I might be willing to look into a demo.

Honestly, no. I have it for the Xbox 360 and although it's fun, I stopped playing around 32% completion (the same number I stopped at GTA IV). Way too much filler (cattle herding/ wagon racing), and sometimes riding around on horseback is more of a chore than a fun thing. However, I do think the gunplay would be vastly superior on the PC (for me)... on the consoles it relies heavily on auto-aim, and although you can turn this feature off, I think it would make it too hard.

The only reason I haven't bought it for console is that I am waiting for a PC version. I would have picked one up already if I wasn't going overseas without my consoles so soon.
