wouldn't you be happy just with these games alone?

Hi fireandcloud. No, the more good games the better. It's always like that in the entertainment industry.

Yeah, probably. I think the issue is that FPS is most peoples' favourite genre, and there are very few FPS games on that list.

It's distressing and utterly hilarious to imagine that a console could steal the FPS genre from the PC.

with all the devs crying foul at pc games not selling well, shouldn't we just abandon all multiplatform games and just support the pc exclusives, so they can make tons of money and produce even more awesome pc exclusive games?

who's with me???!!!

fireandcloud

hear hear; this thread is a great idea to make developers take notice of the pc gaming community. i have no plans to buy any console games; i no longer have a console system and don't plan on buying one. as for buying only PC exclusives, i think i shall try to hold myself to that. there may be a few exceptions that need to be made (maybe mass effect), but i am looking forward mostly to the exclusives (or what are currently planned as PC exclusives) like dragon age, stalker: clear skies, and a few of the others.

i think i'd be happy with just the two you listed. especially if dragon age is truly the spiritual successor to bg2. hell, i'll be content with that for a whole year or two.

but of course, to support pc gaming, i'd buy any of those listed above if they score even a 7.5 average from pc gamers.

Idk just about those games alone. However they all look very promising. I'm very eager for Sims 3 and Starcraft 2 which I know will both be phenomenal games for our platform.

i don't care about them, tbh. :) well, far cry 2 a little bit, but i was disappointed by the latest clip (which you can find on gametrailers.com).

but hey, if either of those two games get great scores, i'll support them by buying the pc versions.

have you seen the stalker: cs hd trailer on steam? it was posted here on the forums before, but the steam version is full screen, and it's magnificent. that's going to be the game to beat; not many multiplatform games are going to even come close!

i thought alan wake was also coming out for xbox (not just PC). i am looking forward to that and also keeping my eye on alone in the dark and mafia II, but those are also not PC exclusives.

Sure. Sounds fine to me. I am a trillionaire anyway and own every platform, so I can get whatever game I want anyway. I even own some systems that won't come out for several years. Such as XBox 720. It's a nice system.

Ever played Starcraft 3? Yeah, I thought not. It's like 50 times better than Starcraft 2.

Well, I would have to say, I think true MMO's are the way games are going, and it's tough, no not impossible, but tough to do a dencent MMO on a platform. I've almost always been exclusively PC based though, so I may be biased ;)

Out of that list there are only a handful of games that interest me (Stalker: Clear Skies, Dragon Age, DX3, maybe Spore). I'll never get any MMOs, not fussed on the Battlefield games, puke at The Sims, and some of the others aren't my cup of tea. :/

Mind you, if I can buy 10 decent PC-centric games (not necessarily exclusive, but well optimised for the PC) over the next 2 years, I'll be satisfied. I'm not going to ignore some titles just because they appear on consoles as well (or even first) if the devs have a good track record and are prepared to optimise the PC versions.

I'll probably get Mass Effect for the PC because I trust Bioware to make a good port of the game (based on what they accomplished with KoTOR). I'm hardly going to buy just Dragon Age and ignore Mass Effect if I trust the developer.

More and more developers are going to go multi-platform. I don't like that any more than the next guy, but I'm still hoping some of those games turn out okay because otherwise (for me) the choice will be fairly limited.

On the other hand, I'm also more inclined to look twice at less well known titles on the horizon, like Cryostasis, Chrome 2, Codename Panzers: Cold War, Collapse, etc., which I believe will also be coming to PC first.

No, I buy very few games and the ones I buy I know I like which is mainly fps which that list lacks. Dragon looks awesome but am hoping it doesn't have the flaws that bg2 had.

I would actually prefer to have this list right now:
  • Deus Ex
  • Fallout
  • Fallout 2
  • Grim Fandango
  • Planescape: Torment
  • System Shock 2
  • The Neverhood
  • Thief: The Dark Project
  • Thief II: The Metal Age

Seeing as how I have not played these games and they are more relevant to my interests... and I do have all the games on this list and will be playing them over this summer.

Oh yeah, the thief series is amazing. Thief 2 is probably my favorite game ever. Having said that, there are a very wide variety of games that I enjoy as well, so the limited list given at the top (first post) would be unacceptable to me.

I've played the first few hours of SS2, a couple hours of the first Fallout, the first level in Deus Ex and the first two levels in Thief (and am currently playing The Neverhood). I just started playing all of them at the same time a year ago without ever giving them the time they deserved before I finished them. This time around I am playing one at a time until it is finished without moving onto the next... no matter how much I want to. I choose to play The Neverhood right now and don't know if I will actually be able to finish it (due to the supposed "impossibility" near the end of certain puzzles) but I will try my damnedest.

It is going to be a fantastic summer for me and I won't even need any new games.

Well now that you mention Fallout (which is an awesome bunch of games that you should play at all costs!), I can't wait for Fallout 3. I'm just really hoping it's not a huge let down. Come on Bethesda, don't screw this up!!!

Well, allthough many complain about oblivion, I loved it, so if fallout 3 is anything like it its a win for me. Left 4 dead is being made by the same guys who did Condition Zero and CS :source so I feel pretty sure about it not being crap.

I'm not.

But then again, I'm not your typical PC-gamer. The whole RTS-genre... I don't get it.

I always want more. And to be honest, only a few of those games really interest me.

I buy great games, could not care less if they are exclusive to this or that platform, I'm not a silly fanboy. (Not trying to offend anyone here, but if the shoe fits...) Dev teams like Valve and Bioware make great multiplats, they deserve our money as much as the Cryteks and CD Projekts out there.
