wow has more players
a very big drawback for Gw is you can only see other players in cities pretty lame.
Well I have only played WoW and the game is great but for some reason I feel that it needs a bit of more action play or someething. Its a good game and it will give you plenty of everything. WoW has 8 million players but you better go to a medium or high if you really want to see people around. But also if you want to enjoy a new server with new players you might want to play a new and fresh server so you can enjoy with other players with the same level.
If you life in Australia GW is better for online connectivity, we have to get conected all the way to america wich is non-comprendable at all.
The Good things (that I know) about GW their graphics are amazing and fantastic. They are really inspired beautifull graphics.
Its free, you dont pay a cent after you buy the game or its new two expansions. And if you buy any of the two expansions you can play the game entirely.
While WOW you pay monthly and its not cheap. with 5 months gaming you spend on wow you could practicly buy a new game, they are way overcharging and I cant understand why they are when they are hardly simply upgrading for players that are 60 and over to 70. No new content for low players.
Go to www.worldofwarcraft.com you can download wow for free and try it for free for 10 days. If you like the game you can buy it and transfer the character to the new account you get with the game and get an extra 30 days,...
I wished there was something like that for Guild wars because id love to see how is that game. The gameplay is important for me too.
Ah I almost forgot, a bad thing for GW is that there is only up to lvl 20.... while you can get up to lvl 70 in WOW.
If you got any more questions about wow ask me and Id be happy to tell you.
By the way... I would truly not try to play this games. If you reconsider having a good education, a good carrier or a good social life. Or simply not being stuck to your computer for like ever.... play games like FF12, Okami or some fun offline RPG and you dont need to depend on some addictive never ending game. It is a chance to disapoint eveyrone around you if you start playing wow or similar online games.
I used to play guildwars its actually a great game and used to play wow for a little while
go for guildwars if ur new to this then switch to wow if ur willing to pay per month thats what i did but be careful wow is totally different from gwars alot funner i guess
Wow i didn't actualy know that?(non sarcasm) Uhm get WoW if you want have more people to play with and maybe!(just maybe) a bit more depth to the actual game, but GW if you prefer Nicer shinier graphics, and arnt botherd about not seeing people after you leave the cities. i personaly play WoW, but thats because i have this group of friends at school and we all buy the same MMO and the same race and make a group and we decided with WoW(we've also done GW but there were less people in the friend group then, but was still fun).wow has more players

Try LastChaos (totaly free), WoW is more in depth then gw's , but gw's has nice tournaments and fame thing is kinda cool. Havnt played any gw expansions. Got to lvl 70 in wow and sold my account cause it was a warrior and they are gimp in pvp.
I would try Vanguard SoH if i was going to pay monthly to play , but its system reqs are demanding too.

I started with Guildwars and switched to WoW later when all my friends and guildmates did so, and after playing WoW, Guildwars just doesn't seem any fun to me. I'd have to say start with GW and after a year or so see if you can get some of your buddies to switch over to WoW with you, but don't just go and start playing WoW by yourself. It's always more fun to start off the game with several friends to talk to.
wanna know what i did.........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................I got them both :D and play them both

It depends what you are looking to do in the game, really. I played WoW originally for the PvE content, as of all the games out right now it's probably has the best PvE end game content around. They also offer PvP which I tend to find uninspired and boring. If you were to compare endgame now on WoW to GW pvp endgame I honestly think GW wins. With WoW's new Arena system it virtually kills most high level world PvP, forcing everyone to queue up an infinite ammount of times for any kind of PvP fun. That alone reminds me of guildwars, since you're queuing up for these crazy battles and not so much running out into the world and fighting. Only thing I can say for GW is it seems to offer more arenas and different scenarios that make GW>WoW as for pvp. Also you forgot WoW doesn't take alot of skill. Take for instance a person with tier 4 or 5 can beat a person just in tier 2, there's not skill there, but stats. So, you can't beat your opponent in a similar type of way. Guild Wars is pretty different in the catagory. PvP pretty much takes skill than gear, which makes it fun. WoW is so dumbed down it isn't funny. Also, 8 million doesn't mean it's a great game.
Just my 2 cents, GW for PvP or WoW for PVE.Lambss
I found WoW not worth the monthly fee (where I live it's 1/3 of the game's price and game itself is hellishly expensive), Just couldn't find anything for me there. I never did guildwars and probably never will. Right now I am all about Diablo Lord of Destruction.
Why D II LoD?
1. Internet game on bnet is free!!!! (Important if you count money, not weigh it if U live in crappy country (no offense to fellow inhabitants of my rich and beautiful country).)
2. Gameplay just leaves behind WoW big time.
3. If I am after true RPG I go for Morrowind, Fallout or Arcanum. Baldur's Gate and Planescape Torment also good.
4. Patch 1.11 refreshed the game.
5. Great items like runes, runewords, gems, transmuting, armor and wargear - no game has better.
Why not?
1. 800x600 seems dated for majority of gamers.
2. Lags!
3. Hard to find alive guilds.
4. Few millions less players than in WoW.
5. Your friends probably don't play Diablo II and won't (what do they know).
6. Mouse killer.
I just recently dusted off my box of Diablo II LoD and gave it a second chance after 2 years. I have never been online player besides Enemy Territory that rocked my world, but D2 was worth the 2nd chance.

LastChaos has plenty of players and its free gfx where surprisingly aight for being free and no fees. It doesnt have as much content as wow or gw but its still fun. Gw is like cool for ability to play anytime . wow you need large slots of time open to fully enjoy it imo. endgame in wow requires alota hrs and the result isnt worth the time imo since i was a war and the pvp is unbalanced class wise. I seen it all in wow even T4 T5 T6 armor etc. Though if you sell your accounts/gold when you done playing you can recoup more then you put out. Its the time i miss ...you never get it back. eq2 wasnt as great as eq1 imo. Eq 1 s to outdated for me know though for me to get back into. Im waiting for Huxely for my next mmo i think.Guild Wars' gameplay mostly consists of strategic, tactical combat. World of Warcraft is mostly about grinding.
Guild Wars has less players, and you can only see your 8-man party oustide of towns, but is far more interconnected than WoW - everyone plays on the same 'server', so you can easily and very quickly party with anyone else in the world (it only takes 2-3 clicks to visit the international areaa).
Similarly, there are always international tournaments going on, and very competitive international PvP matches happening (literally) all the time. So if you like PvP where the winner isn't the one who has grinded for the longest, or the guy with the biggest party, then Guild Wars might be for you.
Ive played both GW and WOW. I got GW first thinking it would be good but its not really. I would even consisder it a real MMO. After that i got into WOW and its an awesome game.WOW hands down.jwcs15
The only thing good i found about GW was superior gfx. But you get what you pay for. Whenever i decide to take a break from WoW i might play it, or some of the games ive been slacking on finishing.
the quests for WoW were way too repetitive and boring for me personally.... so I stopped playing it (kill _ bad guys, collect _ items, over and over...) I went back to Guild Wars because it was free and it was also easier to play since I am a casual gamer. You can't play WoW for 15 or 20 minutes at a time. In fact, you really can't play it for an hour at a time. It requires a good amount of sit down time if you want to do anything productive. I felt like I just couldn't get anywhere playing it casually, so I stopped. So Guild Wars gets my vote.

But if you do want some good long missions there is Domain of Anguish in NightFall, where a 1 part (4 parts lead you to main quest) can last around 4 hours!!! I usually save DoA for the weekends. :)
Also there are many other Elite Missions in Guild Wars too.
WoW got most everything but.....

qft, I was addicted to WoW for a long time until i quit lol.
[QUOTE="sephiroth_y"]I'm looking for an online game, between these 2 games, which one has more players? Or any better games?Volgin13World of Warcraft if you can pay the fee, but if you can't get Guild Wars
Neither I say... Get a real game like Vanguard.
Trust me.
Seeing as I've played both since release maybe I can help out a little..
I played WoW from beta up until about just right before TBC expansion, I quit for a couple months then went back to try TBC and found out it wasn't much different except for obviously new PvE content and some subpar pvp. WoW is fun, don't get me wrong, but it's extremely addicting and can be troublesome. Not to mention it's expensive in the long run compared to that of Guild Wars.
Guild wars however, is free but because of this it lacks the content WoW does. It's fun PvP with a Guild, but without one you're pretty much stuck to Team Arenas or Random Arena. The PvE in guild wars is fun with a friend, doing it solo with pugs or henchmen can get boring but nevertheless it's still interesting. I own all of the Guild Wars games and beat every single one of them, and I can easily say the first one (prophecies) is the most boring. It's up to your preference, whether or not you want to pay to play a game that takse much longer time to get anywhere than in Guild Wars but offers a lot more content, or a game that is free to play and has what I consider better PvP if you're in a guild but lacks in the PvE department.
Overall, World of Warcraft is more fun, but Guild Wars atleast to me, is the better choice only because of experience though.
