which is better?

You cannot compare a three year old MMO coming up on expansion 2 with an MMO which has only just been released, and is as such nowhere near finished and absolutely not yet ready for a release.
You could compare AoC on day 1 with WoW on day 1, provided the player could remember accurately enough... but any other comparison would be beyond pointless.
MMOs ship unfinished.
Well um, let me suggest the truth.
Age of Conan is for all of the Worlf of Warcraft noobs that just couldn't make it into an end-game guild, sucked at PvP, or just didn't have the time to play it. Funny how they are like "Bye guys leaving WoW for AoC" ...yea dude, tell me that when you have atleast one blue piece of gear. Haha.

I hate when people say wow has an open world. All new mmorpgs are the same and none allow true explorationJohnny-Quest
In order to have a true open world, you'd have to have the really lame levelling system that Oblivion had. There was no use in exploration as there was never any challenge. Every creature you met was your level and therefor beatable. I want to be able to say, "Hey! Let's see what's over there". Only to have the creature (which happens to be 10+ levels higher than me) squash me into jelly. That would give me the motivation to level up so I can kill it and find out what goodies it was protecting.

Ya, I was expecting that in Oblivion but was suprise that I can kill almost everything that I find.
World of Warcraft, better community, a lot more fun, excellent PVE and PVP...

I have played several MMOs in my life, WoW by far has the worst online comunity. Unless you know someone outside the game your guild will not succeed. SWG (pre-NGE) I had a great roleplaying guild right off the bat and did end game with them (untill SoE screwed it up). the original Everquest, loads of people to play with, and sense everquest was not mainstream back then only mature college guys played meaning people didnt drop out of a party in the middle of something, I cant tell you how many times this has happened to me in WoW. Even several free MMOs have better online communities, i cannot list them all because i dont have the time but the game 2 moons comes to mind.
Id love to point out that compared to any other mmo out there, WoW is pretty much on easy mode. I cannot tell you how many people including myself have reached endgame in it in a matter of a month maybe two max. And seeing people think they are hardcore or better than anyone else because they have reached 70 makes me sick.

Did you ever play AC? I don't know why mmorpg devs don't make their games like the huge sandbox AC was. AC was nothing like oblivion because there were places you couldn't go until you were a high level. I remember leaving auto run on and leaving my computer for 2 hours and coming back to see that I saw still running and didn't even cover half of the world. It was amazing.
Like I've said 3 times, depends on your server choice and also if you pick Horde or Alliance
Alliance on my server is nothing but top notch
Toriko42
I played on 3 different servers. Two Horde, One Alliance. They all sucked. 3/3. It's enough for me to pretty much sum up that the community sucks.

Agreed. ALthough I though overall Oblivion was a good game. To answer your question..haven't played AoC yet sorry. I would imagine it would have to be pretty good to be beat WoW though
WoW all the waychinchillables2
Age of Conan is so superior to Wow.... I am a Wow veteran (3.5years) and I had a blast playing Wow, but I haave to say, AoC is the future, it is vastly superior in terms of graphics, combat, inmersion in the world...and it is only 5 days old... get ready for the future and get Aoc (if you have an ok computer...)

Well i played a fair bit, and after 2 months i reached level 43. It got soo dam boring, I just couldn't be bother leveling anymore so i just quit

Hmm maybe that was Warhammer? :P , Its good, though I havnt got time to get addicted, got work to finish up.
I cant really judge, its addictive, its got some good qualaties, but you can tell its unfinished.
I'd say the gameplay itself is better in Age of Conan, but it really lacks something in the communication. Sometimes it can feel like you're playing a single-player game, because the interface doesn't exactly make it obvious when someone is speaking to you. Other than that, then it instances every area, so you won't find as many people around as in WoW.
Depends on what you like really. Personally, I prefer Age of Conan though :).
i will keep my part simple
played AoC at a mates for like an hour, sweet as it gets needs a a bit of patchin here and there damn good for a week old game:D
played WoW for a while not too long i just didn't like it, ok game but just not really for me i suppose:(
so my vote goes for AoC ;)
I play wow and im satisfied with it , lots of players , interaction , gameplay only gets a little booring with grinding all that honor , gear and reputation .
Ive never played AoC so i cant say how it is , i saw gameplay video and it has lots of gore and graphics are nice , so i would like to try it .
Well um, let me suggest the truth.

Fixed for every1, FYI i know people in my freaking guiild or previous guild that left WoW even though they were in full t5 +, after farming hyjal/bt for a long time even i(WoW freak) would get tired and play another game.....
I have only played Age of Conan for a few hrs....its an ok game
i prefer WoW, not cuz im a fan boy but because rite now WoW is the better game
AND BTW WOW COMMUNITIES ARE BASED ON CHUCK NORIS
Best ever imo- Ultima Online.
Between WoW and AOC, AOC wins by a large margine. BC ruined wow. Most WoW players are too blind to see the repetitve grind over and over, and everything is a grindfest/gear competition. The game takes no skill, everything is about time invested and gear. That is it and all. PRE-AQ wasnt too bad, i had a lot of fun. But once you do it all, it is the same everything. AOC is new and refreshing, and wait there is world pvp omigosh, something BLizz decided to kill with AFKing in BG. Im ranting now. But imo AOC even though just released is a much stronger and enjoyable experience.
AND WoW world is SUPER tiny!! It consists of a few major cities, raid instances, and BG. That is ALL. Nothing ever goes on in the actual world. No one goes anywhere really, nothing to find or do.
wow's community is fine, you need to know where to find it, i transfered from a server with a great community to one with not soo much, also you need to find a server that meets your style. for example if your hardcore PVP and think you got skill, tychondrius is the place for you ( altho anyone on tich will say " TICH IS NOT FOR YOU!) if your more casual or want to make a lot of friends, an RP server could be your bet.
i have hardcore raided and pvp'd in wow for almost 3 years now. ive been in a top 100 guild bla bla all that stuff, i must say though wow does not like casuals, maybee i say this because i play hardcore, but IMO just doing the 5 /10 man instances and jst the battlegrounds is not fun at all, without good arena partners and endgame 25 man raiding ( not 1-2 days a week, 5 days) the game would not be fun for me, nor can you get anywhere near the gear the others have. WOW is a casual killer.

HAHA wow takes no skill, tell that to ppl on BG9 or anyone thats in a 2200/2300 + rated arena team, everyone at that level has the ABSOLUTE same gear ( full s3) the playing field is the same , and in a mirror match all their is is skill (and yes a roll of the dice ) but if you watch video's from people that are at the top, they do things that even the more than average player does and have immediate reaction times, its just like people that are amazing at counterstrike sniping or those koreans that can do 200 actions per minute in starcraft, their are always exceptionally skilled players and their is no such thing as a game that dosnt need skill , from chess, to fps , to RTS, to MMO's.
also - wow felt big especially in vanilla wow until you hit lvl 60, same so but not soo much in BC, AOC will probly be the same, once you have explored everything and hit max lvl their is no reason to go back and you will be stuck with your endgame regions and feel the game is small
WoW is proven, although AoC is very fun, it's far too early to tell.
I do highly doubt it will ever touch WoW, it requires a much beefier system than WoW, and AoC is a mature rated game, bound to reach fewer people. Those are just the facts. I think AoC will have a very decent community, a more hardcore community when all is said and done.

No Blizz decided to kill world PVP by Nerfing every old world raid, and soon to be nerfing outland raids. Do you remeber a time when BRM was a constant war, now a days you go in without ever seeing anybody but your party...
THe only world pvp i get these days(on my twink) are by lvl 70s
And No WoW is not super tiny, like i said WoW is super tiny because blizz decided to NERF all the old world raids, therefore keeping 99 percent of the 60+ in outland(which is 1/2 the size of kalimdor)......

Remeber, in the end the class make up decides the winners in hte high brackets AND who has more luck with crits and crit heals. So no, not that much skill. Ill admit that part of the game is the ONLY part that requries abit of skill the rest doesnt. Meeting someone in the world same class, if you have blue and the person has epics you will lose every round no matter how good you are unless you get lucky. I think gear should be important but not THAT important. And pve, for example a pally only needs to spam FoL and occasional low rank HL, auto blessing buff everyone, press one-tw okeys is skill? This is hte pve aspect. I'd personally like more interaction
