I have tried doing this and it will recognize it and it will even state Xbox 360 Controller Via Play & Charge Kit. The light on the Kit will turn green, but no button presses will register. Has anyone played using a Play and Charge Kit? If so, how do you do it? I NEED help. Thanks.

Is this a wireless controller? If so, the PC won't recognize it.

Play and Charge kit is a wired USB cable between machine and controller. My brother has yet to get it to work properly on his Vista machine.

The play and charge kit does NOT allow the controller to be used on a PC. It only charges the batteries. You will need to get a PC to 360 wireless adaptor if you want to use a wireless 360 controller on a computer. Otherwise you have to get the standard wired controller. On a side note, the play and charge kit will charge the controller just fine on a PC.

I have a 360 wired controller and there is nothing wronge with it. I love it as my main controller and I am able to sit literally in the next room because the wire is long. The best thing about it is no batteries.

the next controller i get will be wired definitely as its quite a bit cheaper, only thing i don't like with it is the weight, doesn't feel as heavy as i would like it to be.
